Adrian has been amazing from start to finish with helping my 11 year old daughter overcome her phobia and anxiety, Having had hypnotherapy & learning mindfulness techniques then applying them to our everyday lives it has changed so much for us, more then we could have ever hoped for, We were stuck in a pit of mess and Adrian seems to have saved us, for this I will be forever grateful to him. I came to Adrian with insomnia issues and other personal matters which I had been dealing with for a while. He equipped me with excellent mindfulness tools which have really helped along with hypnosis each session. After being unable to sleep and switch off, I suddenly found myself sleeping soundly through the nights and couldn't believe it after a few sessions.
I can honestly say that it has been a life saver and without this help, I dont know what I would have done.
Adrian will make you feel comfortable and go the extra mile to help you where possible

Counselling

Applying Mindfulness to my everyday life has helped me overcome anxiety and stress and control my mood.
Last year was tough for everyone, and my mental health was low and needed revitalising.
I read reviews and came across Adrian - he was local to me, so I contacted him, and he called me. We had a chat and i was interested in what he had to offer and as I'd never had any form of hypnotherapy thought i'd give it a go.
The first time I went along I was apprehensive. Adrian took time and explained to me what he does, and to be honest I did not feel ready to be hypnotised, as mentally I felt that I need time to prepare myself.
The following week I was more confident - we spoke about the mindfulness task for the week and then I was hypnotised - and thereafter I went weekly and looked forward to these sessions. To be honest I was disappointed when my course ended.

Does it work - yes, it's helped me a lot, but you do need to set time aside to carry out your mindfulness exercises daily - which I look forward to.

Hypnotherapy

I got in touch with Adrian Sonnex as I needed help to stop smoking and knew hypnotherapy was an option. I highly recommend you do the same! Adrian was very reassuring and explaining clearly every steps of the process and making sure I was informed and confortable. The experience was a success as I have not smoked once in over a month and I was used to smoking half a pack a day before our session. It's been an overall easy process with only occasional thoughts of smoking in the first few weeks which always disappeared almost immediately. I know barely evr think about smoking and have been able to very easily refusing cigarettes that have been offered to me. More...

I can highly recommend Adrian Sonnex. He is kind ,patient & wise.
I have always had issues with severe anxiety. He was the first therapist to really get to the bottom of my issues.

I can highly recommend Adrian Sonnex .I have known him for some time and he has always been Extremely helpful.
I originally went to him for help with sleep issues & Bad anxiety.
The hypnotherapy worked SO incredibly well.
I returned to him for grief counselling.
I cannot thank Adrian enough for helping me at a terrible time.

A couple of years ago I had hit a really low point in my life with several traumatic experiences taking place over the course of three months. I was recommended to see Adrian by my partner, who had previously enlisted his services.

I was deeply struggling with severe anxiety and depression. I was forced to quit my job and spent most of my day sleeping and only getting up to occasionally to eat something. I needed professional help and support quickly, which meant I couldn't go the NHS route where the waiting list was +18 months for support.

Seeing Adrian meant I could incorporate a regular routine in my life. Through mindfulness practices and hypnotherapy I was able to build my life back into order and could start doing 'normal' things again, like seeing friends on a regular basis. With Adrian's support I was able to finish my degree, and take on a new job as well.

Now two years down the line I am getting back to my usual self, but I continue to speak to Adrian over Skype once a month. Out of all the therapists I've seen, he was the only one who could constructively help me get to where I wanted to be. I could not recommend Adrian highly enough.

I received good service from Adrian when I was going through a very difficult time. I was able to have therapy over skype which meant I could fit this around my busy schedule and also be in my own home. I had initially had six sessions, which helped me a great deal when my stress and anxiety was really effecting my life and relationships. I felt calmer and more relaxed and definitely felt more positive and able to cope. I am really glad I invested in my mental health. More...

I originally approached Adrian for help with rebuilding my confidence after a traumatic job interview experience. We worked through my issues and initiated a session of hypnotherapy which really helped to control my anxiety during future interviews.

I returned about a year later when I was being disturbed by new neighbours. Once again, Adrian and I talked through the causes of my anxiety and used hypnotherapy to successfully control my thoughts. While never pressured into it, I have monthly 'top-up' sessions just to keep on top of this and any other personal or professional issues that pop-up.

I can absolutely say that after a good session I feel more confident and calm afterwards. Adrian has a way of putting you at your ease and a voice which leads you gently into a hypnotic state. I am more than happy to recommend Adrian as a hypnotherapist - I have benefited from my time working with him. Initially it can be a bit strange trusting someone to use hypnosis with you but you soon get over any nerves. You do get out what you are prepared to put in, so go with an open mind and see what Adrian can do for you!

Helping people to resolve and overcome their anxiety, depression, abuse - trauma - PTSD, phobias, relationship and sexual problems etc I love working with people. Before I became a full-time therapist in 2007 I spent twenty years working with people with physical disabilities, learning difficulties, Autism and challenging behaviour.

I have also volunteered for The British Red Cross (10 years) and the Samaritans (listening volunteer 5 years).

What I don't love about my job is the IT, website developing, social media, computer work :-(

I have always been interested in people and in helping and supporting people. Whilst working with people in carework I worked alongside psychologists, speech and language therapists, music and art therapists and this is what really inspired me to become a therapist myself.
