we attended a wedding party, the hotel and staff were fantastic. First class all the way.

We are leaving today after a 2 night stay for my partner and myself birthdays. This hotel has been fantastic and the staff are so lovely. A nice comfortable room, amazing breakfast and good location a few minutes drive to the park and ride.
The communication between myself and the hotel was also excellent and not forgetting the free heath club facilities that are available.
Would definitely come here again

We have just returned from a lovely two night stay here with my 8 year old daughter . The hotel was lovely and clean throughout , traditional decor what you would expect . All staff were friendly and helpful , especially Caitlin on reception who always had a cheery smile when you passed . Breakfast was lovely , with a very big selection of lovely fresh food . We had paid for early check in but the room wasn’t ready when we did get there , didn’t cause any issue , money refunded and we just went out for the day and came back later . We did eat in the restaurant on the first night as dinner was included for one night (although only for us adults and not our child which didn’t make sense as I did book a family room for 3 people ) , food was “ok” , unfortunately my husband had fish which was just full of bones so not enjoyed . Bar wasn’t greatly stocked , not through any fault of the hotel - simply delivery issues as with everywhere at the moment . Can tell the hotel is a little short staffed from what it would have been pre covid but they are certainly doing there best and doing a good job at it . Would return . More...

Breakfast was great room was dated but clean Arrived at 7pm after booking at 6pm was told to wait for 35 minutes until booking came up on there computer even with booking confirmation Email Lady was not helpful at all Was told by her we would have to pay for breakfast even with proof on email it was included The rest of the staff were amazing but First impressions count and ours was not good after a 6 hour drive

We were only here for one night travelling from the Midlands to Edinburgh. Soon as I walked into the hotel and especially our room I wished we were here for longer. We shall definitely return to see more of the beautiful York. Hotel is very comfortable, classic decor and ambience which compliments the age of the hotel. Breakfast was delicious as was the evening meal. Staff were well trained and friendly. Park and Ride was a few minutes down the road and an excellent way to get into York. We had a very good offer with Secret Escapes which certainly fulfilled it's promise. More...
