Poor service. I needed a replacement power pack for the speaker that I had bought here 18 months ago. Took in speaker and faulty power pack to get a replacement. I thought - this can't go wrong; everything is here. They found a power pack that fitted the back of the speaker, tried it out and claimed it was charging. It appeared to be working. Unfortunately the speaker was in fact running off the residual charge, not the power source. They sold me a power pack of the wrong voltage. I went to Village Music because I thought they knew what they were doing. Yes, I got a refund without hassle but to expect me to spend more money in a shop whose service has not only been poor but cost me 2 classes worth of fees is simply ridiculous. I won't be back. Honestly, the nicest staff members that I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with in a music store. Reasonably priced, amazing quality and selection, and above-and-beyond the call of duty in terms of Service. Absolutely amazing.

Popped in today for a wee look as my current practice amp magically broke on me so needed a wee amp for the house as my stack is too heavy to move about all the time. Didn’t think I’d be leaving with an amp today but the service from both gents was fantastic, the Fender Mustang amp is brilliant with lots of brilliant sounds on it!! It’s rare to find a music shop who doesn’t rush customers especially when they are trying the instruments!! I was given all the time in the world to try different styles on the amp from Scotty Moore to some Queen stuff and again the staff were so friendly, professional and even took an interest when we were telling the advisor how we are going to Memphis soon and playing a bit of guitar in Sun Studios! Will be recommending this little gem of a store to all my music buddies! Thanks so much lads for the service! More...

What a refreshing experience this shop gives on how to treat a customer.. Hired a clarinet for my eight year old daughter yesterday and the time and effort Jamie Spent showing Millie how to set it up and take care of it was brilliant. For all your musical needs and wants definitely don’t miss out this shop. Jools Holland.. More...

Great shop and the staff are all very helpful and friendly. Whether you are in to have a look around or to buy you will be made to feel very welcome. I had to take my banjo in last Saturday after my class at the Village School of Music and even with all the set backs caused by the snow this week they had it ready for me for this weeks class. I would highly recommend this shop and the Village Scool of Music to anyone looking for an instrument, accessories, advice, repairs or tuition. Keep up the good work More...

Village Music is a truly fantastic shop. Recently, we were in a number of times to look at guitars for pretty much everyone in our house (apart from me - might need to remedy that though ♀️) and it didn’t matter who was working on the days we came in - everyone helped us out so much (because we really didn’t know what we were after).
A massive big shout out to Colin who stayed open late so we could pick up our order and even took the time to teach Charlotte how to play a thing or two.
You guys are totally fantastic and I don’t mind telling EVERYONE that!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Local family run business. You won't feel intimidated walking in (like you might in bigger chain stores, manned by an army of beardy guitar hipsters) as you'll get a "hello" from whoever's on (all staff know their stuff too) and ample time to try out the instruments. The only thing I'd mark down is the prices can be a little extra compared to the aforementioned chain stores. Particularly peripherals like pop shields, capos, harmonicas etc. Well worth a visit if you're in town. More...

My son has been part of the Village Music school for over a year, he has lessons on the guitar ever Saturday and also attends the Rock Club on a Wednesday. He has also performed in concerts which gives all the people involved confidence, the music teachers and staff are some of the nicest people I have met. More...

The staff are really helpful and offer excellent advice. I have purchased a keyboard and bass guitar from them over the years - both really good instruments at reasonable prices. I have also purchased guitar strings, music books etc. I had ordered a couple of bass guitars from an online outfit and found the quality to be poor (strings rattled at certain frets) so went to Village Music instead and Colin, the owner, sorted me out with a really good bass for around the same price as the online retailer wanted. They also do repairs and run classes at Village Music. I took guitar lessons at Village music. Both tutors I had were really good. More...

I went to village music to inquire about an M-Audio Axiom Pro 49 MIDI Keyboard and was able to get it through them for much cheaper than anywhere else I had previously researched. I will be going back in the next few months to see about another synth. Any guitar strings I have bought have also been from this shop.Staff are friendly and have good chat. Good times. More...

Village music is an independently owned family-run business, and that is certainly a large part of its charm. Many other music shops which are corporately owned and have several branches across the U. K can have great customer service but feel lacking in overall customer care. That is not a problem for customers of Village music- the customer service is excellent, the staff friendly and helpful with great advice, and they provide exemplary set-ups and repairs on instruments. The musical tuition- of which the instruments in question are electric guitar, acoustic guitar, keyboards, bass guitar, banjo and violin- is to a very high standard with very skilled tutors and is available tailored to different skill levels from beginner to intermediate to advanced.
