What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Having a friendly outlook and warm personality goes a long way to having a great rapport with your clients and therefore you get the best out of everyone, even those who are very shy. Look for that special moment when it occurs - normally its an off-guard occasion when people are unaware your even photographing them.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I ask them about their background and get to know them as a person. Find out what they like and dislike about themselves as most of the time, people do have a good side!
What do you love most about your job?
I really enjoy seeing those special moments between a Mam and her newborn baby or the first time a Groom sees his Bride and capturing it forever in a timeless photograph. Children give me great pleasure as you never know what they are going to get up to next! The response I receive when my client's see their photographs for the first time is a huge reward.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I gave up working in a very successful, well paid job to start my family and after I had my first daughter, Emily, I realised that I didn't want to return to a full-time job and miss out on her growing up. Today, I have four, beautiful children and absolutely love my job which allows me to have the best of both worlds - precious time with my family and a fantastic career!
