Not all home care providers are regulated. For example, introductory agencies do not need to be regulated! However, the service that you receive from Unique Homecare Services limited is fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and we welcome and comply with the registration, inspection and auditing process that regulation brings. we firmly believe that this commitment t transparency and quality can only ensure the best possible care for the people we support
Clients will receive a bespoke service that identifies their individual care needs and what is important to their lives. We will also support the family, as we understand our clients can only remain safe and well at home if their family members have peace of mind themselves. It goes without saying that their are some failures within the current provision of care for those living with dementia which we believe is causing a fast deterioration of their symptoms. It is so important that each of our clients have a complete personalised care plan to assure we are providing top standard care which goes above and beyond their needs in order to enhance their lifestyle. We use a primary prevention approach to dementia care which means equipping our staff members with practical knowledge and the skills to cope with a variety of situations that may arise when supporting someone with dementia, thus minimising distressing, anxiety and the need for using medication. It goes without saying that dementia has a mass of adverse affects on not only the individual, but those around. Unfortunately, these psychological and behavioural symptoms that we find so difficult to understand are often termed ‘challenging behaviour’. More often then not, such behaviours are the only way they can express their inner emotions or needs, this is why it is so important we examine our method of support and make changes. As earlier stated, if we understand and are knowledgeable about what they are experiencing, then we have the power to prevent challenging behaviour from occurring. This is a very individualised aspect, and client/carer relationship is paramount in this being effective therefore our home visits are no shorter then 1 Hour this gives time for the strengthening of trust between our clients and care team. If we create a positive environment then we reap positive results.
