What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
At Unicorn Healthcare Services Ltd., we take the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic very seriously. We understand the importance of adhering to official public health guidance and restrictions to ensure the safety of our clients and staff. To do our part, we have implemented a range of infection prevention and control measures, including increased hygiene measures and enhanced environmental cleaning. We also require infected persons to self-isolate themselves and promote the regular cleaning of frequently touched surfaces. In adult social care settings, we go even further by requiring the wearing of personal protective equipment, such as face masks, to protect our vulnerable service users.
Domiciliary Care
We can help with daily tasks. Our goal is to provide you with the necessary support to help you maintain your independence and achieve your goals. As part of our services, we will support you in various areas to help you achieve your desired outcomes. These may include:
a. Assisting with the fitting and safe usage of equipment
b. Promoting continence
c. We can also assist with self-medication
d. Supporting with external catheter care
e. Supporting with stoma care
f. Our team is trained to take and record medication as prescribed
g. Support with tele-care equipment.
h. Get up or go to bed;
i. Washing, bathing, hair care, denture and mouth care, hand and fingernail care, and basic foot care.
j. Dressing and undressing
k. Toileting, including necessary cleaning and safe disposal of waste
l. Food or drink preparation to ensure appropriate nutrition as in accordance with the Care and Support Plan
m. Eating and drinking, including associated kitchen cleaning and hygiene
n. Attending daycare, hospital appointments etc
o. Shopping and handling their own money, including accompanying the Service Users
p. Collecting pensions, benefits or prescriptions, paying bills for Service Users or other simple errands
q. Dealing with correspondence
r. Caring for children or other dependants;
s. Supporting in accessing leisure or social activities as identified in the Care and Support Plan
t. Night sitting or sleeping services to provide supervision and/or personal care on demand
u. Cleaning the home, which may include vacuuming, sweeping, washing up, polishing, cleaning floors and windows, bathrooms, kitchens, toilets etc and general tidying, using appropriate domestic equipment and appliances as available
v. Making beds and changing linen
w. Lighting fires, boilers etc
x. Disposing of household and personal rubbish;
y. Cleaning areas used or fouled by pets;
z. Assisting with the consequences of household emergencies including liaison with local contractors
aa. Machine washing clothes or household linens, including fouled linen (using either your laundry equipment or a launderette according to the circumstances and your preference), hand-washing, airing, drying, ironing, storage and simple mending.

a.Reablement or rehabilitation for example Intermediate Care whereby the focus is for you to regain, maintain or develop daily living skills, and the confidence to carry these out independently
b. End of Life Care that supports and helps you achieve the best possible experience during the last days, weeks and months of life.
c. Intermediate Care that focuses on promoting a speedy recovery from illness, preventing unnecessary acute hospital admissions, supporting timely discharge from the hospital and maximising independent living.
d. Complex care needs, that may include one or more of the following: High level dementia needs, for example with people with behaviours that challenge; Other identified conditions where additional specialist service is essential; the administration of medication by
specialised techniques
