I think it was a fairly decent shop, staff were ok, I had thought that the waiting time was oddly long but when the food came I willingly ate it, and surprisingly not bad, for the prices here there are many other shops which outclass it. Might come later.

Really tasty food - the jerk chicken was particularly superb. We ordered online and food came well within the delivery time. Fantastic customer service. Would definitely order from Zanzibar again! More...

UK Mamas is both a sit in restaraunt and self entitled Carribbean 'JAke-away' (Geddit?!). I came for a meal with a large group of friends for my 22nd birthday and have very fond memories of the night. Though the restaraunt is small and, some might say, 'uniquely' decorated, what it lacks is sheek style it makes up for in quality of food, value for money and above all atmosphere. There is a selection of Carribbean dishes to choose from, including the famous jerk chicken legs and mutton curry. You can get a good feed in here for around a tenner but don't expect delicate flavours and post-modern presentation. For me, UK Mamas was all about big, intense and delicious flavours combined with the laid back and easy going vibes of Jamaica. The charming owner may invite you to play one of his many african drums at the end of your meal or to dance around the room to some strange music but don't be afraid -this is all part of the UK Mamas experience!Video link: youtube.com/watch?v=y_K3… More...

Don't be fooled by the rather grotty decor, the food here is wonderful. For me, the main appeal was in discovering what African and Caribbean food is like and it didn't disappoint. Tasty.
