I have only worked for Twelve Trees home care for a short while, but all I can say it is such a pleasure to work for such an amazing company. I wish I would of started much earlier here. Fantastic management, support is amazing. Employees are being looked after. Never have I ever worked for such an amazing employer. Training is amazing, and also fun. Can only recommend this company. If you never worked in care it doesn’t matter you will be looked after More...

Why Twelve Trees and care for me? - nearly 20 years ago, a dear friend of mine, in his nineties, became ill suddenly I was shocked and called to the hospital hundreds of miles away. My friend was a huge influence on my life, he was soldier in WWII, a senior civil servant, active fund raisers for various charities including the Children’s Society etc but he had no close family.
I sat in hospital with another guy, like me, who had known our friend for over 20 years, for two days we sate, watched, and comforted him as he slowly reach the end of a huge life and during this time we were looked after by kind nurses and hospital staff while we talked to him and did what little we knew then to help him.
When the end came, it was a shock and very difficult, but we continued to be helped by kind staff. When I went back to thank the doctors and nurses I asked, “how do you know what to do and care for people” I was told quite simply “we are trained but you have to be caring to start with” one nurse told me she volunteered in a Nursing Home at weekends whilst she was finishing college.
I was considering a career change and left the hospital, went home, and started to research training for people who wanted to care, and there it was, Age Concern and many courses to help. I booked four there and then and by the end of the week I had found a voluntary job in a Nursing Home, hosting a coffee morning, this was the start of my care journey.
