Food excellent Staff very helpful. Just didn't get a room in the hotel as so full. ideal appartment instead with everything. will book again and hopefully be in the hotel next time. Lovely walk through the woods More...
Great place. Food is wonderful. The staff are very pleasant, helpful and friendly.
I have visited Tregenna castle many a time. It always hits all the high points. Can never fault the rooms, it is always so clean, the grounds are maintained impeccably. The view of St ives is second to none and the staff are phenomenal. They are always very helpful and always great us with a smile. I would 100% recommended this hotel/ resort More...
Great food, friendly staff.. very clean rooms and fantastic food! The location and views are amazing
What a wonderful experience one of the most beautiful grounds to have a wedding service..
The event team at Tregenna Castle were absolutely amazing, they helped us organise our wedding day and it was perfect, nothing was too much trouble, they even put up the Christmas decorations which made the room look beautiful, stunning||A special big thank you to Harriett, Lucy, who supported us from our first meeting at the Royal Cornwall Show, when we booked our date, right up until the DJ starting playing on the evening, their support and attention to detail , and personal touch were impeccable and they are a a huge credit to Treganna Castle team. ||Thank you all so very much , for making our day so memorable, we will see you next year for our anniversary xx More...
Amazing as always
It was a prebooked holiday for a special occasion which was partly spoiled by heavy rain and high winds. The accomodation.was well maintained with a great view across the Bay .Facilities were good and meals about average.Service was above average with friendly and considerate staff More...
Wonderful place, food lovely and walking distance to St Ives
We had an amazing two night stay for £120. What’s not to like? Bed and breakfast as well as a cream tea and a welcome drink. Location is amazing. There is a lovely walk down to the main road for St Ives. Room was lovely and comfortable and on the whole the staff were great (apart from a rather abrupt staff member at our first breakfast). Stayed in the West Wing with amazing ocean views, room was beautiful. Absolutely stunning location, castle is outstanding, spotlessly clean, staff couldn't be more helpful. Would definitely visit again.
Our twelfth visit - say no more. ||Weather wasn't brilliant but didn't matter as our stay at Tregenna made up for it. ||Have to limit our visits to 2 a year as the cream teas are causing havoc with our waistlines! ||A special thank you to Luke in the gym - most helpful. More...
Great looking hotel with lovely views. First impressions very good, no problems checking in. Booked for 4 nights.. Given room 127. Avoid this room unless the following appeals to you. No Shelves or drawers, the wardrobe is tall the rail inside is too high unless you are over 6ft, the shape if the wardrobe means the rail goes from front to back making it difficult to reach stuff at the back. If you are over 5' 6' the shower is no good, the shower head only reaches as high as my chest. The heat in the room is too hot, even with radiator off & window open. Not enough plug sockets. We complained at reception after 1st night and we were moved to room 93, what a difference. No issues at all with this room.|Breakfast is buffet style with everything you need, except on the last day when we were in the Brasserie, where Breakfast was cooked to order.|Would have given 5 out of 5 if it wasn't for room 127. I am a professional face and body painter booked to paint at a Christmas corporate event at the hotel. I was also an invited dinner guest. There were at least100 people dining plus a wedding function going on at the hotel at the sma time. We sat down to et and I hd chosen the bass dish. I have to say regardless of the fact it was a mass catering evening fro the kitchen staff I have to say that all the dishes I ate arrived hot, beautifully cooked and delicious. All eating at my table of 12 agreed it was delicious. ||Great staff at the hotel really friendly and helpful not only for guests but also liaising with me when I set up for work. ||Great hotel. We stayed at Tregenna Castle hotel for 5 nights and overall found it a very nice place to stay.||Room 109 had stunning dual aspect views over St Ives. It was basic but comfortable and very clean. The only issue might be noise from events held at the hotel when people are leaving. ||The facilities were very good and we enjoyed a round of golf, swimming and jacuzzi.||The staff are all very friendly and welcoming.||The Brasserie food was average and prices are a little high. The desserts could be better presented, especially the trifle and the ice cream.||We were guests of the wedding being held at the hotel which was well managed. There was also a corporate Christmas party being held on the same day. Another Christmas party was held the following evening and we were woken when the guests left, I hope whoever was shouting out for AJ found him safe and well! hey but it is Christmas and everyone is entitled to enjoy themselves for a least one night a year.||We would not hesitate to stay again at this time of year.||||| More...
our granddaughter took us there in october 2019. we spent a lovely week in one of the houses within the grounds, the house was amazing and the grounds were beautiful lots of walks around the gardens. we found a path which took us through a wooded area down into st. ives...... also they had a pool and a small gym to use....... would love to go again. We have visited Tregenna for over twenty years – so know it well – and our children, who started small, still come with us even though they are now well into the twenties. The main attraction is the views but also the sporting facilities and so it was excellent to see that – at last – Tregenna has first class tennis courts which are wonderful and play as you would expect. Well done! More...
We always have a wonderful family time in our Lodge timeshare weeks but now, with the tennis courts FINALLY upgraded, this is the icing on the cake, when, weather permitting, we play for a couple of hours daily. In addition to the sports facilities, the view and air are magnificent (and even the weather was pretty kind) and the Lodge suited our circumstances perfectly. Thanks for another great week More...
As my review title suggests this really is a great place in a great location the extensive grounds are well maintained and include what appears to be a very good golf course our room was very good and a nice size . It takes about 15 minutes to walk into St Ives by using a wonderful woodland path that includes several waterfalls surrounded by exotic plants. The hotel is marketed as a family resort which it is; but ; it cannot be considered to be the country house hotel that its appearance would suggest.During our 3 night stay there was no restaurant available probably due to a function on the first night and weddings on the other 2. There is a cafe type area where meals are served but this just like the bar lounge is neither comfortable or appealing. Breakfast is served in the large room used for the aforementioned functions it is a self service buffet with a very good selection that is well prepared but there is no availability of the normal options you would expect in a hotel. To sum it up this really is holiday camp catering to a good standard. There are some very good deals online for bed and breakfast and this hotel should be considered as ideal as a base for touring the area. On all 3 nights of our stay we opted to eat out. More...
I attended a charity event at the castle and had an overnight stay. Last year when I visited for the same event I was a little bit disappointed with the hotel and the experience but this time was different. I had a wonderful room (128) which was big and had amazing views of St Ives bay. The room was clean and pleasant. The staff at the hotel were brilliant from start to finish and I enjoyed the breakfast which was included in the price. My only moan was the cost of the drinks at the bar, I ordered a gin and tonic and a bottle of lager and it came to £15.80, however the hotel staff really made it an enjoyable visit and experience. Lovely place set in 72 acres of gardens , lovely food , room very clean the only thing I can complain about is the lack of view from our bedroom window , I’d booked this trip back in April explaining it was for my husbands birthday ( which was while we were there ) the room we were given was room 88 and the view was of 2 big plastic conservatory like buildings with bright lights shining day and night , roof tops drains gutters and pipes , the hotel wasn’t full so I was puzzled as why we were given such a room with a terrible view , I asked at reception and the receptionist asked if I’d booked direct with them which I replied that I hadnt but had put in a request for a nice view to which she replied that I hadn’t paid for a room with a sea-view ! I said I didn’t expect a sea view but did expect a view of some sort of the 72 acres that the hotel was in !i asked the receptionist why they would put somebody in such a room when the hotel was not full and she replied that it was just the way it was ! It’s a pity because this left a bad taste in what would have been a very enjoyable couple of days ! More...
We stayed at the Tregenna Castle Hotel to celebrate my birthday with my sister and brother-in-law. It was a special offer through Wowcher and a very generous deal. The receptionist was really helpful when we enquired about upgrades to include a seaview and gave us keys to other rooms to look at. We were tempted by the lovely spacious seaview rooms and paid the extra £20 a night. They were lovely rooms and worth the extra cost. The friendliness continued throughout our stay with the bar staff and breakfast staff. St Ives is beautiful and the Castle is in lovely grounds. My husband and brother-in-law took the steep walk down to the town whilst my sister and I drove down. They did advise that it was a difficult descent and were pleased to have a lift back. This is highly recommended to come and stay for a special treat More...
Group on deal for two nights. Stayed in room 98, absolutely spotlessly clean. Bed comfy and no noise at night. Surprised at no toiletries, only an all in one dispenser on the bathroom wall. Clean towels both days and room was comfortably warm.||Breakfast was very good. The offer of a free drink on arrival wasn't used as we wanted to go into St Ives to look around before it got dark and the offer was for between 4 and 6 pm. Same with the cream tea, time restricted offer and as were out we didn't want to return just for that. There is a short cut through the grounds via a steep path which comes out o to the main road, takes about 10 mins. Taxi back up from town was about £5. All in all nice hotel, not bad for a short break More...
We purchased a two day break through Travelzoo for the Sunday and Monday nights on purpose to enjoy the Sunday Roast for Sunday evening dinner. |We were not disappointed.|Our choice of room this our second visit was at the front with a sea view and we were pleased with abide on the left down to the town and on the right far up the coast to Hayle.|Breakfast on both mornings was able out plenty of choice and good service from the staff clearing and cleaning.|It was our second November visit and despite the weather well. worth it. A lovely experience as always. The perfect place to take a break. Weve been thoroughly looked after. Highly recommended.
Booked a 3 day special offer break directly with the hotel. £59pn B&B (£20 more for the Saturday). ||Room was nice enough, a decent size (looked like brand new carpet), although limited toiletries (just one dispenser). There was a hairdryer. Very quiet - no noise from any other rooms / guests even though there was a wedding taking place. Breakfast was buffet self service (including drinks) and was fine. ||||Our offer included a welcome drink and complimentary cream tea - both were good. Would also recommend trying one of the speciality hot chocolates which we felt were good value at £3.50. ||||Hotel location is a 10-15 minute walk into town through the hotel grounds. ||||Lovely location, well maintained grounds, free parking (please don't change this!) and we also had a game of squash (just one court & not heated, but was free to play). ||||Very happy with the price we paid and would stay again on a deal. Our first weekend away from family and all on our own!!!!|We arrived at about 9pm, Winchester is a bit of a drive in one go. |The receptionist was very polite and helpful. Room was spacious and the bed....That was huge!|In the morning we discovered the beauty of our room, the view, a sea view.|Spent most of the day wandering the town and the Tate. Rain was not friendly, but the people and St Ives were wonderful.|We were treated to a Christmas meal (in November!) which was very nice, a bottle of wine and bed, two worn out people.||Restaurant has GF options as well as Vegetarian options. Two bars and a good restaurant, Spar and some health things (not for us) Golf and sport facilities locally too. Short walk to town, busses available. More...

Nice resort, beautiful gardens, lovely staff.
Quality character hotel. Good food and drink with excellent service from friendly staff.
Beautiful place will definitely be visiting again
This was not my first visit to St Ives and once again I was not disappointed even though the weather was atrocious. The hotel was lovely and very comfortable. We stayed in one of the new lodges and were not let down at all. The accommodation was spotless, well decorated and well equipped. The beds were so comfortable that it felt like home. |My Portuguese companions were amazed at the beautiful surroundings and excellent accommodation. They also commented on the quality of the food served in the hotel as exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for the waiting on staff and in particular Penny always had a smile on her face. |I will definitely be going back to St Ives and my choice of hotel would always be Tregenna Castle resort More...
Fabulous place excellent around
Beautiful place to stop.
Historic building turned into a hotel. resort, conference hall. Fantastic buffet breakfast. Room was double bed instead of king but was clean. 10 min walk to St Ives (slippery slope when wet). Bar was small with no atmosphere. Did not have dinner there but menu looked ok. More...
Very nice siteFriendly staffNice roomsSome food and drinks a bit pricey But all nice quality
Standard of food and the service has improved 100%
Myself and 4 friends have just returned from a weekend at Tregenna Castle to celebrate my 40th birthday. We stayed B&B in Carrick Du, a 2 bed hotel apartment a few meters from the castle. It slept 6 with a double, twin and sofa bed, 3 shower rooms and toilets, kitchen, dining area and living area. It was perfect. We could eat in or eat out. The best of both worlds. We were originally booked for 2 weeks earlier but due to 1 of our party being unexpectedly in hospital we were able to change our dates after speaking to Geoff on reception who couldn’t have been more helpful. From checking in this weekend to leaving we all had a great time. The reception staff were welcoming as were the staff at breakfast and in the Brasserie. The food was hot and plentiful. Special mention to the lady in Castle Beauty who gave a fab massage that was a surprise from my friends. The pool and hot tub were great, so warm. All in all a lovely weekend stay. We’re are hoping to do it again next year! More...
I booked the North Lodge for nights. The lodge sleeps 10 but we were only 5. We were all very impressed with Tregenna Castle resort and especially our accommodation. The house was lovely with plenty of space for us to have a lovely relaxed weekend. Lovely sea views and only a few minutes walk into St. Ives. ||We used the indoor swimming pool and sauna. Both great. More...
