I came in for a pint, little did I know I would be met with the friendliest staff I’ve encountered in the local area. I ended up staying for dinner, the food was incredible and very reasonably priced. Both the landlord and landlady were very approachable and made me feel welcome at the pub. TL;DR Lovely place, excellent service, great menu, reasonable selection of beer & spirits and very child friendly.We love going here. We have been in both summer, when we can sit outside and move to the heated section when it gets chilly and winter when we sit inside.The service is excellent - extremely friendly and accommodating. We have been both with our baby and without and there really is no difference in service.The seating is fantastic, which is close enough to feel like there's a good atmosphere, but not so close that you are pushing past people all the time.There is a bar area which is great if you just want to pop in for a drink and a separate area, that I would name as a "dining" area (as opposed to a full on restaurant). I also like the fact that you can come in from the outside and go to the small bar, rather than walk around to the main bar. This works very well as the staff are very attentive and do leave you standing there like an idiot.The menu is a good balance with something for everyone. I would say that It has a leaning towards gastro, while concentrating on good food without all that other gastro b/s.While I would not say that the prices are cheap, I personally think it's excellent value for money and we certainly never come away feeling like we didn't get what we paid for.Overall, we obviously like this place and I always come away thinking that I have had a good meal. Now our little boy is getting a bit less labour intentive, we have started to think about having a life again and this is the first place I though of when we dared to think about leaving the house for social reason. Highly recommend this lovely venue. The Manager was wonderful, so helpful and welcoming. I was impressed with the menu as a vegetarian and even more impressed with the meal itself. We visited on Thursday for a business lunch and really enjoyed the food. Nice, freshly cooked, homemade dishes and really good portion sizes. Very good prices too.
