Gorgeous restaurant at the northern end of Tynemouth Long Sands, with some parking on the road down if you're lucky (£1. 50 an hour).The view, as you'd expect from a place named it, is stunning. South to the priory and beyond. Whatever the weather it'll be enjoyable.The coffee was excellent, silky cappuccino and a smooth latte (soy milk available).Despite things like Eggs Benedict on the menu, we both went for the full English (one vegetarian - £7 each). Both came with perfectly cooked eggs, and everything else full of flavour.If you're on the coast and looking for breakfast, this is definitely worth a stop. More...

Visiting for the first time, very friendly staff and lovely surroundings, i had the fish and chips, very nice and the tarter sauce was the best i have ever tasted, my husband had the scallops, he said they were exceptional just missing a piece of rustic bread to mop up the delicious sauce. Thank you all members of staff at The View. Answered questions and seated my family and I quickly in a very comfortable spacious booth. The waitress had a very good knowledge on what was available to drink. Food was ordered with ease and arrived promptly. The food which arrived for the children was very tasty and although the options were your standard sausage, chicken nuggets etc it was good to see that it was good products used. The cod and chips arrived and the portion was off a decent size. Cod was fresh and flaky and the batter wasn't greasy. The Parmo burger was very tasty and you could taste the quality of meat chosen was again off a high standard. All the chips were outstanding proper chippy chips.
