We hired Rear View for our wedding in July and they were amazing! So many guests have commented how great they were since the day! They were very flexible mixing covers with ceilidh and some DJ towards the end! Such a fun night dancing to their music. Our first dance and father daughter dance were perfect and they played the songs we wanted amazingly. We had Rear View play our wedding on July 14 2018 and they were absolutely fantastic! They were wonderful to work with throughout the planning stage, learned and played our request for our first dance perfectly (we were seriously impressed - we thought it was quite a tough song but the singer hit every note! !), patiently taught our Canadian guests some Ceilidh dances before switching into some more rock 'n' roll covers and a DJ set. Rear View performed for us last weekend for the second year running at our summer party. They were fantastic from start to finish. Jamie was quick and super helpful responding to our initial enquiries, and their offer to learn as many as 5 songs for you specifically for the event is particularly good! On the actual night they arrived in plenty of time, were extremely low maintenance and then played an awesome set which had everyone dancing. Rear View band played for our wedding at Mar Hall last September and were great! They were really flexible and sorted out a DJ too so that we could do everything. We also had a celidh set and even some Sri Lankan music (given it was a mixed wedding).

Organising the band was really easy and the whole process was so smooth!

Don't know where to begin with how amazing the Rear View Band were on my big day. Having witnessed them play at weddings before and taking the key members of our wedding party to a night where the band played, we knew for sure they would definitely make the wedding reception unforgettable.
On top of their amazing performance on the night itself, the band were more than accommodating with some unique requests. The father & daughter dance was not only a song that the band do not have in their usual repertoire, but with an added twist for the last minute that the band had absolutely no issues with taking on, and the added bonus was the extra mile they took in adding their own accessories when playing it. I also performed on the wedding night itself as a surprise for my wife, but didn't finalise my decision until the night before, and all it took was a quick call to Jamie and he sorted everything I needed and made sure it all went exactly as planned.
The dance floor was packed from the moment the band played right until the very end of the night, and I cannot thank the band enough for their performance, help and keeping everyone entertained.
Would highly recommend to anybody looking for a band to suit any type of function as their professionalism and performance stood out far more than any other band we considered. More...

We had the pleasure of having Rear View play at our wedding. From the first dance to "Nothing Else Matters" to their final song, they played an amazing mix of rock, metal, and the occasional ceilidh dance. We could tell that they enjoyed themselves too. They put in so much effort and energy, and delved in to their "normally forbidden at weddings" list. Plus they allowed my wife to take to the stage and make her singing debut.

Rear View played at our wedding and they were amazing! They are all really friendly ans very efficient setting up. We loved the variety of music aandnd the fact we could have ceilidh songs and normal songs and a dj section. Loads of our guests asked for the bands details after the wedding too.
In the lead up to the wedding the band were very helpful and we could email them with loads of questions and they were very quick to reply with an answer. It was great that we could choose the songs we wanted played and they learned our first dance song rather than us having to use a cd.
We had an amazing day and would definitely recommend Rear View Band to anyone else looking for a great band to top your special event!! :)

Fantastic night shared with friends and family to celebrate Ian's 60th. Rear View were just great! Good music, singers and musicians as well as being really nice folk! The perfect wedding band. A great mix of ceilidh and tailored to your personal choice tunes.

I married my wife in July 2015 and asked RVM Band to perform at our reception and they blew everyone away! Our friends and family are still talking about how great they were.

Dealing with wedding planning is stressful but they where friendly and kind even when I was a feather-brained bride calling for the fifth time to check details. I can't say how happy I was when they arranged to play "our song" with the tweaks that we specifically wanted. Then when it was time, they played our first dance and my heart melted, the room faded away, leaving just my angel and I to drift away in our song. Simply magical.

They where highly professional getting in, set up and ready without disturbing anyone. It was easy to pay them in advance so that I had no worries on the big day. I certainly didn't want to fuss with money on our day. We just wanted to be lost in the moment. No fuss, no worries just simple business.

To Wedding Planning Folks: This band does all genres of music, from traditional to chart hits. They can cater to your oldies and youngsters. Ceilidh like crazy and slow it down for those intimate moments. They are professional, friendly, easily contactable (even when you are triple checking details) and will perform to their best abilities, just for you! Even cost wise they fantastic and worth every penny!

On behalf of my wife and I, I'd like to say a well over due thank you to the band, what a performance, totally amazing - This is a professional band that for sure knows how to deliver.

We arranged for RVM to perform at our wedding in Grantown-on-Spey, and they traveled from Edinburgh and put on an amazing show that all the guests thoroughly enjoyed. Due some of the guests having very little experience at ceilidh, a couple of the band got on the dance floor to give us a demonstration. We had Rear View Band play at our wedding last week and they absolutely made the night for everyone including us! We had all our guests commented on how fantastic they were and asking all about them. Each member of the band is absolutely amazing at what they do, there is not a weak link in the band! They play a diverse selection of songs and were happy to play requested songs that we had asked for in advance, including our first dance song which they played beautifully. The whole band are very professional and friendly, a really great bunch of people. They get everyone up on the dance floor and keep a party going! The addition of Gillian playing the fiddle was amazing and really crowd pleasing. We also saw them play at Malones in Edinburgh prior to our wedding and they whole place was jumping. I booked Rear View Music for my wedding last year and genuinely could not speak highly enough of their professionalism and performance on the night and in the lead up to the event. For someone who truly appreciates music, booking a band to play your wedding can be a harrowing experience; trawling through an endless number of band profiles, finding more or less the same generic set list, I was close to tears. Devoid of optimism, I asked a friend who regularly gigs in Edinburgh if he happened to know of any good wedding bands that wouldn't cost the earth. It turned out he did and he put me in touch with Jamie at Rear View Music.

I was organising my wedding from Australia, yet despite the obvious time zone issues and the very short notice Jamie was near instantaneous in replying to emails and could not have been more accommodating and friendly. We discussed musical tastes and he even specifically tailored a set to meet our requirements. Any chance of a short Ceilidh set? Not a problem. Everything had gone too smoothly - I was starting to get a bit apprehensive - the price that he offered for a tailored set for four hours, including a ceilidh, was a fraction of the price of those I had previously been quoted by other bands offering a shorter set with no ceilidh. It was too late to have doubts by this time so I just had to cross my fingers.

I had no reason to worry. On the day the band turned up long before their start time to set up and sound check. Make no mistake, this is no part time pub band making a bit of extra cash on the side, these are professional musicians who are dedicated to their craft. From the first song they had everybody up on their feet and by the last there was all sorts of ridiculous 'dancing' happening. They had even prepared a few surprise numbers to play on the night, a great touch. I cannot thank Jamie and the band enough for their huge part in making our wedding day as special as it was. When our friends and family talk about our wedding the band always get a mention.

I usually would not use as many superlatives in an entire year as I have in the above three paragraphs, however Rear View Music earned every one of them. Book them and find out for yourself. More...

Well..... went to see the function band a few months ago not having much thoughts about it.... couldn't really afford a band for our wedding but was giving it a shot. .... and what can i say? wow i was blown away completely. Fantastic and from that moment i was intent on finding a way to afford rearview for our wedding this past september.....
