This is the second time my wife and I have visited the Old Auction House for breakfast and both times have been excellent. On our first visit we both had the Croque Monsieur 5*, beautiful, our second visit Wednesday 21/09/2022 I had the Full English breakfast, in my opinion and I told the staff the best I have ever had everything tasted so fresh 5*. This place is elegant with an awesome vibe. I went for breakfast and the food was amazing. The service was speedy and friendly. Their dishes are absolutely incredible! In addition to that I treated myself with a piece of Comte to take home which was absolutely wonderful! Definitely a 10/10! More...

Booked a 9pm table for the bao bun pop up (which I did directly with Aubrey). Turned up at 9pm for our sitting to be told it closed at 9pm. Showed the emailed with the booking, Aubrey came over and said well we’ve had loads Of walk ins so we can only offer you one item on the menu. He was incredibly rude and obnoxious about it. We had to then go and find somewhere else to eat on a Friday night at 9pm. Seriously annoyed and would not go back. Fine grind did a MUCH BETTER JOB with this pop up. What a disappointment. Waited nearly two hours for a small sandwich and crepe. It wasn’t busy enough to justify this. When they finally arrived, the sandwich was made from a basic white baguette, which was a shame considering the price. Appeared to be only one waiter and one chef working. Felt bad for the waiter as he was new and had to handle everything largely on his own. It’s a nice space, so it’s disappointing that the café hasn’t worked on the basics considering there’s so much competition literally minutes away.
