First time staying and will definitely be back. Room was clean with a decent shower, new carpets and flooring. Bar area was nice with friendly barman. Looks like new fitted carpets throughout. Only down side for me was a huge amount cigarette ends and beer cans on steps outside, this really is offputting. Car park very small so had to park on street. More...

7 of us stayed the night before going on holiday from Cardiff airport. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the decor was lovely! The staff couldn’t do enough for us, they were really lovely and went out of their way to ensure we had a really nice stay! The Mount Rooms is a lovey place to stay and is complimented by its brilliant team of staff, they are helpful an d friendly and nothing is too much trouble . .. it has fabulous Bistro with excellent service and food .. and a pleasent bar area, we really enjoyd our stay .. the hotel itself is of a high standard its clean, fresh and moden, our room (twin) was equipt with all we needed TV (with all working channels) hair dryer , tea making facilities .. our room was very spacious with high ceiling's and very large windows its was a lovely room with very comfortable beds ... the bathroom was very spacious and really moden... we had a wonderful stay ... Very clean and tidy hotel with lovely rooms. Although our room was a little small, it had all of the amenities we needed. Parking was not very practical in the car park (there are only 5 or so spaces) but we parked at the roadside and that was fine . The only confusion we have had is the menus online, both breakfast and evening meals, are different compared to what's available in the hotel. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Just had a lovely breakfast at the Mount rooms hotel, the full English was tasty, nice and hot and plenty of it, staff are amazing and can't do enough for you, our room is massive, and such a reasonable price, we paid £121. 00 for two nights in a family room, only downside the car park is tiny but can normally find parking out the front, can highly recommend this hotel when visiting Barry. Tom and I would like to thank The Mount Rooms for allowing us to host our daughter Mia’s Christening at your venue yesterday. We have been very impressed with the service from start to finish. Thank you to Joe in Events for organising and to all staff involved in the preparation of the room which looked lovely and throughout the day. Fantastic value for money. £43.80 for a double room! At that price I didn't expect much more than a room. It was a great bonus for there to be a lovely bar and the staff were really pleasant. The only suggestion I'd make is thicker curtains in the room (or add blackout linings to the existing ones) as the sun poured in as soon as it was up and woke us up. I'd have loved to have slept in later in the comfortable bed but the sunrise cut that short. Would definitely return though if we're back in the area. More...

When my husband booked this hotel for a one night stay, we were expecting a grotty little b&b because it was so cheap. We were in for a lovely surprise when we arrived at this beautifully refurbished hotel. The reception and bar area felt luxurious and our room was gorgeous, so tastefully decorated and furnished. The bed and pillows were mega comfortable and my hubby and I are very fussy about these things. We even had a sea view! Only two negative points. One, the very pretty curtains were very thin and allowed even the street lights to shine through. Two the road was very noisy and this was possibly because, as a previous reviewer mentioned, there was no double glazing. We fully intend to return later this year and are hoping they have some rooms away from the road. More...

Lovely place, staff are very nice and helpful, room was very nice, only issue I have is they should put a blind or net curtain in the window in the bathroom and the car park is a little small and quite tight to park if busy but other than that, we have no issues and will deffo be visiting again in the future :D We stayed in a double room for £48.48.. Bargain! :D

Wasn't in the hotel very long as we arrived late and had to dash away soon after but wow. What a shock when you go in through the doors! The room was lovely. Again we didnt get chance to venture into the other areas of the hotel but to be honest i dont think it would of been a let down.
If we ever visit again we will definately stay here.
Oh and! The tea/coffee mugs in the room are of a size to be proud of. No tiny white three sips and you're done cups here! Bliss! More...

The Mount is an absolutely fabulous hotel. This is my second stay with them, and they will be the only hotel that I stay with when I go to Barry. The rooms are impeccably clean and spacious, and the bed linens and towels are always extremely comfortable and clean as well. The view from the rooms is fantastic, and the staff is absolutely amazing. They have everything on the premises, from a restaurant (which serves delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner), and a bar as well. The staff is always ready to help; we requested the same room we stayed in last time and got it without any issues. The bathrooms, bedrooms, and entire hotel is refurbished and all brand new.
