If you're based in the Bournemouth area and surrounds, I'd like to highly recommend Steve Lewis, the IT Guy. I'm not normally one for reviews, but Steve's service is absolutely superb and worth knowing about. We required a networking solution at home which we had got confused trying to sort on our own. Steve clearly has bucket loads of knowledge and experience, so he could simplify the process for us, advised us really well where we could do things in a more efficient and cheaper manner, and had the job done in 2.5 hours. The cost was extremely fair. There was also a bit of follow up and Steve was available quickly to answer our questions as we needed, returning once more at no extra cost. I had an error message stating my hard drive on my laptop was having problems and was recommended The IT Guy. I contacted Steve and discussed the problem. He ordered a replacement hard drive and I dropped the laptop off. It was the Thursday before Easter. We were away for the day meeting up with family we hadn’t seen in 8 months on Good Friday but Steve and I exchanged text messages and he re-installed all my software packages and I was able to collect it that evening. Just had my MacBook LCD screen and hard drive replaced. Sounds simple but my MacBook is over 10 years old! I really wasn’t hopeful after asking around but a professional recommendation from an apple specialist lead me to Steve. It was a bit of a challenge to keep the job economically viable but Steve was able to source the parts needed and with some serious Frankenstein skills I was handed back a fully working, upgraded laptop! I was recommended by a friend to Steve. I had a problem with my sons desk top computer. Windows 10 was failing to load . I left it with Steve to diagnose. It didn’t take long to sort the problem. Unfortunately it needed a new SSD card, A new one was ordered and installed. Steve through out had good communication and gave various options on the types of SSD cards what he would recommend putting in the the computer. Not all heroes wear capes... I'd consider myself fairly tech savvy but the idea of moving mail servers was pretty daunting. One messed up mx record and who knows what would happen 😂. Steve was more than happy to help, on a Sunday night, no less. He was so patient with my rubbish Internet connection and had several issues to overcome. Due to home schooling our children we needed our laptop repaired, a broken screen was replaced and the hard drive was upgraded to make everything work with speed! Steve was an enormous help in my recent purchase of a laptop for my son’s studies. I had gone to a high street PC shop and been completely overwhelmed by the jargon and the lack of help and advice. On recommendation I contacted Steve and asked if he could guide me in my purchase and he happily explained clearly and simply what we needed and the best manufacturers to look at.
