First visit to The Indian and i will for sure be back. The food was outstanding and love the tapa style dishes and the staff was so attentive and there was no delays waiting for drinks from the bar which i can find a issue in some other venues. Thanks for a fabulous experience.

It may look like your average neighborhood Indian restaurant , but The Indian on Skirving Street is anything but best food. .. It was Mums night out. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff. I really loved the nicely fresh made garlic nan with saag paneer. Delicious Gajar ka halwa...yum I would highly recommend! This place is an absolute gem. I tell everyone how good it is. I had family visiting last night. We were a table of 10. 5 adults, 5 kids. The staff were so patient, attentive and funny. The Indian has raised the bar! The food is simply outstanding; fresh, beautifully spiced and cooked to perfection. We enjoyed six dishes, two from the specials - Tandoori King Prawns and Chicken Shami - with fried fish, butter masala paneer and must haves, Lamb Dahl and Chicken Biryani, with nan. Dee and Tal are fantastic hosts, Arjun the chef produces some wonderful dishes.

Really enjoyed the The Indian. Sampled a wide range of starters and main courses that I wouldn't normally try, but I am glad that I have.
Pleasant and helpful staff in a welcoming setting made for an enjoyable meal. Great service and you were allowed to enjoy your meal. Not rushed or preseed as you find in other establishments.
A well stocked bar added to a very reasonably priced menu have ensured that I will be telling my friends and other to go to The Indian.
Very, very good. Enjoy it.

Immediately our new favourite place on the Southside!
Beautiful dishes, lots of choice, great value for money and a lovely crew looking after us.
Such a treat to have a place that prides itself on a changing specials menu and smaller sharing plates so you don't feel overwhelmed with a mass of one dish.
Between three of us we ordered 10-12 dishes as a late night meal, with classics such as tandoori prawn and chilli chicken and also being introduced to Punjabi, home made specials made from kidney beans and potatoes. Despite being full we found ourselves ordering another round of naan bread to mop up the remnants of the sauce. Far too good to leave...
Vegetarian / pescetarians diners were well looked after in particular and the atmosphere is super relaxed, with a decent little bar to boot. A little too full to indulge on the dessert menu this time round, but we shall definitely be back.... And soon.
If you're after a special little treat, go find this little tucked away place right in the heart of Shawlands.

It was a first time dining at this Indian restaurant,we had read the excellent reviews and we wanted to see it for ourselves , we weren't disappointed! The decor is modern and not too overstated and ditto with the menu..the food was excellent and served tapas style where u order as much or as little as u like depending on your appetite..we ordered 5 dishes(1 fish,2 chicken2 lamb,rice &garlic nann) the flavours were spot on +freshly cooked as u order, the staff were very attentive & helped guide us round the menu..the different dishes allow u to experiment with flavours that you're maybe not used and for us it was a winner! The prices are brilliant..We've been welcomed back and I'm sure we'll become regulars to this establishment! A very big thumbs up to all concerned,it was a lovely evening....
