Proper boozer with real ale. At a price though. HSB and glass of wine nice but you're paying for the fact this is a lovely old pub, soft music friendly staff no Sky Sports here fortunately but over a £11 for this round. Excellent pub! Food was delicious. Cocktails £6.50 but worth it if treating yourself! Mocktails available too! Car parking both on site & public car park next door. Excellent service. We had our son's Christening reception here in early November and it was a great choice.Landlords Anita and Rob did their best to ensure we all had a good time and that all palates were catered for. We had around 100 guests including children and had the hog roast rolls with sides of roast vegetables and roast potatoes. A veggie and a vegan alternative were also provided as arranged in advance. Anita and Rob were great face to face and on email when we were organising, and it was made easy for us. All staff were great and the atmosphere was perfect. Came here Friday and Saturday night. Beer quality exceptional the HSB and Holly Bush were in excellent condition, the atmosphere was very good both nights . Will revisit when back down south.

Nice pub, friendly staff, has good range of real ale. Never eaten here so can't comment on food. Food is not served on Mondays which has been a nuisance because it has tended to be Mondays we wanted food, after walking there, the notice outside pub said food served daily, we entered pub to find out in fact no food served on a Monday.
