I've been a member of the I.S.M. for over ten years now and can thoroughly recommend them as an approachable organisation who really care about their individual members. I've just been helped by the legal team with unpaid fees relating to a wedding our string quartet were booked to play for. The parties involved were very unresponsive and if it hadn't been for the involvement of the I.S.M., I don't believe I'd have ever seen the money owed to me. Thank you for all your help! More...

Edinburgh Guitar Repair Centre is fantastic - I put my old (50year old) Yamaha 12 string, broken Guild and new-but-flawed Blueridge in for repair. Did not hold out much hope for the former 2 but with obvious TLC having been applied to the instruments, I had a tear in my eye as I viewed my old friends - unbelievable, I wish I could turn back the years like that....! The Blueridge is also perfect now, don't buy from Amazon!! Paul is great and is clearly passionate about his work. My guitar had lain broken in its case for years, and with it the songs i had sung with it. I had not been able to get to a shop due to a health condition. A few days ago I had the yearning to sing with my guitar or at least have it working — for someone to accompany me. It was 8pm in the evening when I googled and Paul’s business flagged up. Open til 9.00 pm it said, I rang, within minutes he arrived in my place and took my guitar in his arms, as Paul spoke — his passion for his musical work and the instruments was wonderful. He brought my guitar back to me — the broken guitar neck caringly restored gleaming with a good polish and new strings… And the interest and offer to be of help should I require it. I was moved that someone could be so alive and in love with what they do. Paul seems to embrace the whole picture — the instrument, the music, the teaching, and the importance of the relationship with the customer. If only all businesses were that switched on. My daughter has been attending this music school for the past 4 months.She attends for both guitar and singing lessons and the progress she has made in such a short time has been amazing. Paul Boyd is a fantastic teacher and his enthusiasm for music is clear to all.Emily(singing teacher) is so sweet and also teaches to a very high standard.My daughter now sings beautifully.Millie really enjoys her music lessons and it's never a chore to attend classes.The whole family are made to feel welcome when dropping off or picking up from lessons. I have been taking singing lessons with MSoM for the last 4 months. I started as a complete beginner wanting to learn how to sing choir music. My assigned teacher was Mireia Estrany Grau. Mireia is classically trained but seems to have a very wide ranging knowledge of all types of music. She is an excellent communicator, beautifully expressive and very patient and understanding! If the other music teachers at MSoM are of this calibre (and I have no reason to believe otherwise) then you can be assured of excellent teaching to support your musical ambitions. More...

This is a very special and welcoming music school which I can't rate highly enough. Me at my 2 kids have been taking drumming lessons for just over a year with David Jeans who is the most naturally talented teacher I have ever come across. His technical skill is awe-inspiring, but it's his patience, positivity and constant encouragment that has helped us develop our skills.
