I did stay for a night in The Chequers B&B and found it charming with really friendly staff.The room was basic as per description but clean and loved the exposed beams. Breakfast is a must. Convinient parking on site.will use them again. More...

Very nicely decorated room. If I’m being picky I would say it needed a toilet roll holder, towel rail, socket above the table, tea and coffee in the room and clothes rail or closet. I only stayed one night and was happy enough but I think if I stayed longer those issues would really bug me. More...

My stay was for one night on business in the area. The main property is quaint & rustic public house, staff were prompt & offered a friendly welcome on arrival. Lovely room. It’s was very clean, comfortable and quiet. A very modern set up with a lovely bathroom. Only two very small issues: no coffee equipment in the room (but available at the bar) and the beds had wheels which meant every time you sneezed it moved across the wood floor. One warning- the pipes are quite loud when the room next door runs water, it woke me up once in the night. ||||But it was clean, bed was comfortable, shower was hot, towels and toiletries were provided, there was free tea/coffee from the bar. Ciprian couldn't have been more helpful, especially in accommodating early check in. I didn't have the breakfast but the sign said it was 9.95 for the full English. Personally I prefer it not being included in the price as I didn't want it so it makes it cheaper overall, they are upfront about it not being included. ||||Considering how cheap it is, and that it's a short walk from Amersham station, I would happily stay here again. I thought it a real shame to read some of the reviews of this place, I stayed here the night before last in a twin room with a friend and found it to be perfectly adequate. You must remember you get what you pay for and I thought this was extremely good value for the cost of the room. We had a very friendly welcome, the room was clean and tidy and I couldn’t find any reason to complain. We ate in the pub when we arrived and the food was good. We had a warm welcome in the morning when we came down for breakfast and enjoyed a tasty sausage and onion sandwich. I thought the staff were lovely and I would stay here again.| More...
