Great theatre, food in cafe/restaurant below also great. Breaded fish was cooked to perfection. I'd go again.

A genuine community theatre that lacks nothing in facility providing an impressive range of events. Interior decor refreshing would be nice.

East Lothian's only theatre is handily located in Musselburgh. It has a wide selection of performances. The newer, smaller auditorium has excellent acoustics.
This is often used for cinema screenings and more recently for live screenings of National Theatre productions giving a rare opportunity to see classic theatre performed by some of the nation's finest actors.
The main theatre hosts a traditional pantomime every Christmas and there are a variety of musical and dramatic performances both amateur and professional throughout the year.
The bar and bistro is pleasant and often offers a pre-theatre menu.
Something for everyone and getting better all the time.

Went to see Captivate Theatre production of Les Miserables at the Brunton Theatre.
The front of house team were most welcoming and the theatre itself was nice and warm.
The bar prices were reasonable and it's was well stocked.
The theatre itself has a very steep rake which gave every seat an excellent view. The seats were also very comfortable.
The show its self was tremendous. The band was not overpowering which allowed the performers to show off their full vocal range.
A thoroughly enjoyable night and look forward to my next visit.

You have room to move and can see the stage from all seats, small theatre so you need to buy tickets ASAP, has a lovely restaurant but advise you to book below hand.

Great venue, not too big and impersonal. Billy Joel tribute act featuring Elio Pace, absolutely owned it. Superb gig!

Today I visited the theatre to book tickets for a show this weekend. Denise in the box office could not have been more helpful. Informing me about the show, advising me on seating and giving me information on the theater. I purchased tickets for myself and friends. After I left, about one our later I discovered I had lost the tickets. I immediately returned to the theater and Denise very kindly printed new tickets for me and assured me it would not be a problem on the evening. She is surely a wonderful asset to the theater. I look forward to the performance. More...

Nice theatre for local events. The building looks in need of renovation. The coffee shop in the theatre has fresh pastry. I would recommend the scones.

One of my favorite Edinburgh theatres, the auditorium is a modern design, with clear views of the stage from every seat. Here's a hot tip.. I did note that legroom was minimal, so if you need to stretch your legs occasionally.. get an isle seat. I've only seen two shows here.. on both these occasions I did notice how the friendly & helpful all the staff were.. Very impressive! They do have a good bar and cafe/restaurant but I haven't used either.. Highly recommended! More...
