Just happened by the Boat Country Inn & Restaurant and stopped for lunch. Excellent soup of the day (butternut squash) and cheesy garlic bread. We are visiting Scotland from Atlanta USA. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Best lunch we’ve had thus far. More...

I stayed here for 2 night from Christmas Eve and can not fault this place! ||||I stayed with my husband, daughter and our dog. The room was nice and had a little outside area with decking which would be stunning in the summer to sit outside with a drink. The room itself was nicely decorated and very clean, the bathroom was a good size and had a bath which was nice.||||We ate in the hotel both nights and the menu had a good choice of items and the food itself didn’t take too long to arrive and was very tasty! Breakfast was great and the staff couldn’t do enough for you.||||What amazed me the most was how much effort went into everything for Christmas- the place was decorated beautifully and on Christmas Day Santa was sitting in the hall handing out presents he spend ages taking to my little girl and when she opened her my little pony I was very impressed it’s not just the usual tat you normally get. Our dog also got a present from Santa so she wasn’t left out at all. ||||Overall an amazing experience and I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone. More...

Cozy friendly Inn in superb location with fantastic views. Staff very helpful and attentive. Wonderful hot and plentiful cooked breakfast, with great choice, including Eggs Benedict, (although coffee was lukewarm). Dinner good, but only served in bar, not dining room (maybe as hotel very quiet). Bar was cozy with nice log fire. Wine very expensive at £10 for large glass of red. We booked a double 'suite', which consisted of a large bedroom and a seperate bathroom. seperated by a small hall. In my experience, a hotel suite has always included a seperate living space, so I feel this description is misleading. Not expensive though so I guess you get what you pay for. I believe there is a suite which does have this though, along with a better shower, so choose carefully! The four poster bed was very comfortable, and the roll top bath was good. Unfortunately the shower was small, weak and shower head was old and leaking. The room was cold on arrival as all the thermostats were turned off. There were no bath robes or mineral water supplied, as described on the website. Overall, pleasant enough, but disappointed that did not live up to expectation, as per the description on website (Booking.com). I would rate as 3*, not 4* as advertised. Having said all that, I would probably go back, but with lower expectations, and probably book a different suite. More...

Having read some mixed reviews my wife and I were unsure what to expect. However we were more than happy with our stay. After a friendly welcome, we found our room to be spacious and fairly recently refurbished by the looks of it. We had dinner in the restaurant and were impressed with the service. Our only negative comment was that we suspect the mashed potatoes were from a packet and not the real thing! Breakfast was perfectly adequate and again the service was good. We would definitely return here, More...

My Sister & I were renting a house nearby for our holiday. We were intending to cook but as it was our last night we went out. I used to live in the area so knew the restaurant. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated but I was left feeling a bit stressful as the ambiance wasn't relaxing. There was a couple sitting at the next table who's behaviour was appalling. More suited to their room than a restaurant. I feel the staff should have said something as there were children in the restaurant and they had noticed the couple. We just had a main course and left as we felt uncomfortable. Food was good and prices are average for this kind of restaurant. There is parking but it's limited although you can park on the road. We would go back again. More...

A very warm welcome from start to finish with good pub style food and some decent beers on tap also. We stayed in the annex which was ideal for us and right next to the strathspey railway so my wee boy was super excited when the steam engine pulled in, he even got to sit in the tractor with the driver, perfect weekend More...

It had a lovely finished bathroom, with a separate bath (bliss after walking) and a shower.||||Evening meals in the bar were very busy - it was a bit disappointing as my first choice meal wasn't available. Fairly good whiskey list and staff who are keen to help. |My only suggestion would be a bell on reception, I waited a few times for a member of staff to come by. We stayed just one night and only ate breakfast here. The cooked breakfasts we had were very tasty and the buffet was also very good. The service overall was good.||We had the first floor suite at the rear, overlooking the train station - a great view. The room was very spacious and clean. However, the main issue was the four poster bed - it squeaked with every movement, which obviously isn't conducive to a good night's sleep. I can't believe that no one has complained about it before so it was very disappointing that it hadn't been resolved by now. When we checked out, this was our only negative feedback to the girl on the desk. However, rather than apologise, she made a joke about what we might have been doing in the bed to make it squeak. What a shame - with more attention to customer satisfaction this could be a really good place to stay. More...
