Services

Knowledge & experience of sowing and growing vegetable and bedding plants indoors and out. Have also planted fruit bushes, about 25 prickly pear trees and about 200 hazel/cob nut trees and many more mainly deciduous trees recently for Mike Comlay of Worcester, England, UK who advertised a temporary near hill top forest re-planting job near Abergavenny on Skillsbank, now Bark.com.

Have Van & tools for cutting & lopping hedges & shredding the trimmings if desired. High branch lopping work considered.

Also supply large 1m x 1m x 0.7 m wooden compost boxes in kit form or can build it for you &/or fix your wooden raised beds, or can source recycled raised beds & reuse single & double glazed panes to cover them, for seed raising, etc.

Can mix & lay concrete or standard paving stones for paths.

Can source & build small glasshouses, including staging. Most greenhouse, polytunnel or garden work tackled including:

Hedge cutting & Branch + bush pruning and shredding into mulch material.

Gravelled paths dug out, lined, filled and topsoil taken away.

Square or rectangular tiled or paved patio work.

Small Ponds dug and lined & surrounded with paving stones.

The bench height "hotbeds" mentioned are for starting plants early outdoors or under clear coverings. This company can construct your naturally warmed "hotbed", indoors or outdoors for the cost of materials and the time taken to collect them and assemble them.

This company is able to recycle, insulate, reuse & redecorate used pallats to keep your costs down. If u can't afford a purpose built planter, The cheapest 1 suitable known of from Asda costs £138 including delivery & should be pre-ordered along with suitable insulation before the job starts. Maybe you have suitable insulation materials or old pallats onsite already, that could be used to create a deeper more suitable hot planter?

These beds can pay for themselves by saving on heating fuel bills and producing rich, free compost for your garden before next spring, as well as several harvests of early plants and worms for fishing.

The company owner studied meterology, biochemistry, hydrology, landscaping and geology as a part of "mineral, mining and landuse planning" and many other topics, for my Hons. BSc in Environmental Science .........more details to be under University of Ulster in Education section later.

So interested in most kinds of Environmental Science work.

The company owner was hired by East Dunbartonshire council as a Biofuel consultant some years ago for about a month investigating the spectrum of biofuels available and comparing them to the main alternative fuel, namely biodiesel to determine the best option for fueling the fleet belonging to East Dunbartonshire council. He also investigated the expensive commercial manufacturing plant available then and a few alternative methods of manufacture using much cheaper, used equipment from other industries because they wanted to take this consultancy work furtherand set up a manufacturing plant to provide biofuel for their fleet if possible to inspire others to use renewable fuel.

He, unfortunately, had to recommend that it was not possible to take the project further because of the fleet guarantee rules imposed upon the council's fleet of vehicles by foreign manufacturer's UK agents back then, which were often not in compliance with those of the relevant foreign manufacturer in the European mainland markets. Basically biodiesel invalidated their 3 year fleet warranties back then and the council only kept them for 3 years.

He also did a biodiesel manufacturing start up business plan as part of his Pg Dip. some years later.

The company owner studied "Research for Business" & did research into an innovative opportunity at consultancy level, studied Business "Innovation & Change" management at Pg. Dip. level partly because he has a keen eye for business opportunities and is supernaturally innovative & creative especially when it comes to market gardening & business start up ideas.

He can see money making opportunities that other people can't see. He was the only person in his Pg.Dip. Enterprise creation class who got complemented on the viability of all 3 of his business ideas by the course consultant who was the founder of a big successful Telecom services sales company, before he sold out prior to the slump in the market values of these companies back in 2008.

The company owner gained some practical experience of soils and compost mixtures as a teenager growing vegetable and bedding plants commercially on his Dad's farm. Then he learned about the scientific side of this during his BS'c in Environmental Sciences. Much later he did a short 1 week course in organic gardening at "CAT". The centre for Alternative Technology in Wales. They are into composting everything possible. He also analysed mainly sedimentary rock cuttings offshore on various Oil rigs for 8 years. He used Microscopes, chemical drops, blue fluorescent lights & a Gas Chromotograph to identify the cuttings and check for the prescence of gas and oil in them. He has used soil pH test paper at school and uni. and now owns a PH test meter, an electronic bowl scale & a some Soil seives of various sizes.

The owner got qualified to do this when he did his BSc.Hons. degree in Environmental Science. which included Hydrology. He did some consultancy work on this in Northern Ireland for "Farmers for Action" Please see details under "Robert's Projects" (1) "Desktop Nitrification studies"
