Q&As

There are bad days, of course. Every job comes with bad days. But the good days make this the best job in the world. We have our fair share of difficulties, but the smiles are priceless, as is knowing we make a real difference to someone's life. That's amazing.

Our staff work exclusively in people's homes. They love their caring jobs, roles that let them make the lives of people like a little brighter. There's nothing quite as satisfying as going home after a day's work knowing you've done something really important, really special.

For Surrey Care, it’s a simple promise that we make; We shall do our utmost to support people to Live longer better.

We were driven by a desire to make a difference in people’s lives. We started the business because we wanted to make a difference in senior care. We wanted to be part of a drive to help people ‘Live Long Better’. We are always reminding ourselves of why we started the business. We are committed to never loose sight of this “why”, as we believe this will help Surrey Care to grow into the leading homecare agency in the nation and continually provide the best quality care for everyone that needs it.

We employ and train carers to the very highest standards by:
1. Having a rigorous recruitment process, with well paid staff who are supported and rewarded for loyalty and performance.
2. Unrivalled training programme, with on-going training and professional development. This reflects best practice so carers have the knowledge and skills to give high quality care.
3. No agency staff

Throughout a pandemic, the safety, health and wellbeing of our clients and professional carers has been at the forefront of our response. Our Carers are our heroes. We have proactively ensured throughout the crisis that they have high levels of guidance and support to deliver the quality care our clients and their families should expect. We are exceptionally proud of our Professional Carers, whose response to a pandemic is nothing but outstanding and is a credit to the team culture that exists at Surrey Care.

We know how isolating the situation can be, not only for our clients and their families, but for our Professional Carers. Many carers self-isolate with their clients over and above the time they are scheduled to provide care to ensure their clients’ safety and protection. Their dedication and commitment to their clients’ health and wellbeing is truly remarkable. We are committed to protecting our Professional Carers, not just in terms of their safety, but their mental health and overall wellbeing.

Services

Sometimes the simplest things in life can become challenging. Our caregivers provide compassionate care and assistance with activities like bathing, dressing and safely moving about, as well as reminding you or your loved one to take medications and remember appointments. During each visit, your caregiver will log the care they provide.
Personal care may be an option if you need support to live comfortably and safely at home.
Personal care means anything done for you that’s of a personal nature. This may include:
• Personal hygiene – bathing, showering, hair washing, shaving, oral hygiene and nail care
• Continence management – toileting, catheter/stoma care, skin care, incontinence laundry and bed changing
• Food and diet – help with eating, special diets and food preparation
• Immobility problems – dealing with being immobile or substantially immobile
• Counselling and support – behaviour management, psychological support and reminding devices
• Simple treatments – assistance with medication (like eye drops), application of creams and lotions, simple dressings and oxygen therapy
• Personal assistance – help with dressing, mechanical and manual aids, help getting in and out of bed and using hoists
Personal care is vital for the health and wellbeing of you or your loved one. With personal care, their/your needs will be taken care of with sensitivity and dignity, and they’ll enjoy a better quality of life and higher self-esteem.
Promoting good personal hygiene helps to prevent illness and the spread of infection. It also promotes better mental health and allows your loved one to remain in their own home in safety and comfort, enjoying an independent lifestyle.
