The Sunday Care team helped Barbara enormously to gain the confidence to start walking a little again with the help of a frame, and provided invaluable advice and help with regard to the equipment and support services which would help us in the future. Although we only met on a few occasions I am left with a very positive impression of a caring, professional team who quite simply delivered everything that was promised. More...

Home & Domiciliary Care
Desperate without help of adult social services of Hackney and after going through plenty of web pages of private companies, mostly without adequately trained personnel, I was lucky to find The Sunday Care Therapy and talk to Jessica.
After Derek's (an occupational therapist's) professional face-to-face intro into their offered services, I contracted some help and will, if financially able, continue in future. Not only have I been pleased with Bersu's and Abigail's ability to maturely communicate and understand my old age needs, but also being able to rely on their IT, rehabilitation exercise and admin skills. Their loyalty to both the company and me, was balanced and does not damaged our fragile friendly relationship.
Finally, I am grateful for Derek's Assessment of care needs, as a part of the company services, which I was expecting/repeatedly asking from Hackney Social Services for a year, since I tore my shoulder tendon when I fell in the shower. This assessment is also necessary for my Power of Attorney authority.

Home & Domiciliary Care
Incredible care and attention to detail before, during and after booking the OT assessment for my mum. She felt listened to, and was very comfortable in talking about her goals for further mobility and comfort inside and outside the home.
Reply from Sunday Care Therapy
Thank you for the kind words Tony, it was a pleasure to work with your Mum.

Derek came round to visit my dad for an OT session and was really thorough. My dad doesn't always get on with medical visitors, but Derek had an incredibly kind , respectful and professional manner that really put him at ease. After the session, Sunday Care Therapy followed up with lots of really useful links about living aids - from simple tips to various pieces of equipment and technology - that will be invaluable for us moving forward. Many thanks. More...
What do you love most about your job?
We love to make the everyday little things easier and better for our clients. We've helped clients get out of bed for the first time in eight weeks, finally able to sit in the lounge with their loved ones after recovering from surgery. These moments are why we do this job.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Our Co-Founder Derek is an Occupational Therapist and also a carer himself. Four years ago he become the primary carer for his Aunt, Gladys who needed to move from her home in Brighton to move in with Derek in his flat in Hackney. Experiencing what it was like to hire carers himself, coupled with his experience in the field meant that while he had some fantastic carers, he knew they were not trained or supported, or even paid fairly for their important work. As a result, his passion to improve the quality of home care led to starting Sunday Care Therapy.
Why should our clients choose you?
We know what it’s like hiring care, and how frustrating and confusing that process can be. From our personal experience, we launched Sunday Care Therapy to deliver home care at high standards you can trust. We are a local business and we pay our Care Partner team (we call them partners because they work with you, not do things for you!) a London Living Wage for the important work that they do.
Derek, our Co-Founder says "As the primary carer for of my 92 year old relative, Gladys, who presents with Alzheimer’s dementia, I saw firsthand how hiring private care in Hackney was a difficult process. Gladys now lives full time with me as she no longer presents with the skills to live alone. This experience has given me a rare opportunity to see the impact that the delivery of care has on someone’s life from both a customer’s point of view and the care service delivery perspective.”
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Our services are primarily delivered in person. However we can provide remote services like Dementia training.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We all are aware of the devastating impacts COVID-19 can have on your health and well-being, how scary it can be to think about contracting the disease.
At Sunday Care Therapy we take all the risks associated with infection control very seriously and are always looking at the most up to date and cutting edge practice when it comes to reducing the risks - we are closely following the latest research through NICE guidelines and NIHR.
All our Care Partners are provided the highest training available on infection control and the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
At Sunday Care Therapy we implement the use of both UVC light and citriodiol to ensure your protection in the home environment. Not only do we reduce the risk of cross contamination but we sterilise your home when our Care Partners work with you.
Additionally at Sunday Care Therapy we follow the guidelines not only from the NHS & WHO but also the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) to ensure that both you and our staff are protected both physically and psychologically.
“As experts in holistic rehabilitation, occupational therapists have a vital role to play in addressing the debilitating effects of COVID-19"
