What do you love most about your job?
Very simply, I love helping people. Satisfaction for me comes with seeing someone's life improve. Whether it's getting the keys to their castle; saving money on your mortgage to spend on making memories; or enabling someone to live their best life, knowing they are prepared come rain or shine... I love to help.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We live in a busy world, with such limited time, it's difficult to keep all the plates spinning, let alone worrying about becoming a financial expert in between.
Let's be frank, mortgages are a big commitment. Whether you’re a seasoned home mover or looking to buy your first abode, it’s not exactly an urban legend how stressful it can be. Some might even say, on the stress-o-meter, it ranks up there with planning a wedding or even having children. But it doesn’t have to be.
Customer service is in my blood. In my last job, the rushed, conveyor belt process when dealing with people never felt right. If someone needs my help, they've got it, for as long as it takes - personal ethics which I was tired of defending.
I created Styx Mortgages with a clear philosophy: providing people with as much time and help as they need, so they're completely comfortable and go away feeling confident about the future.
