We live in a lovely Victorian house , unfortunately the garden level was around half a metre below the level of the external kitchen doors onto an old concrete base to an extension.
.We had unsightly views onto a dilapidated garage and the garden area was extremely uninviting.
With SMLA's input we've developed a scheme for a private decked area leading from the kitchen where we can relax and entertain friends and family. The old brickwork has been clad with Cedar shingles giving a rich warm texture and creating an outdoor room with an attractive contemporary copper lantern.
The unsightly view to the side has been screened with a black stained facetted fence which hides the view but still allows light through. The side area has been enclosed by a gate and fence in the same detail creating a separate binstore area hidden from view. We also received advice from SMLA to source good quality hardwood decking and cedar shingles at a reasonable price from a local supplier. We've saved a huge amount of money on this project compared to the quotes we received
Our goals for the project were to create a private, attractive space with clean lines and good quality materials.
