Nice facilities and service

Country house hotel, spa, and not one but two golf courses, plus bars and restaurants. We only tried the bar for a coffee, but there was a very welcoming atmosphere. The grounds were well maintained, as was the building. The hotel offers wedding facilities, a range of spa treatments, a fitness suite, and a swimming pool with jacuzzi, and a separate pool for children, as well as the two golf courses. The hotel includes rooms, as expected, but also a number of apartments in the courtyard. Staff were very helpful and even provided a guided tour of the facilities. Why four stars instead of five? Our tea was served in metal tea pots which had absorbed the flavours of the numerous past servings. This was a real let down considering the high standard of the rest of the facilities and seemed to be almost a cost cutting exercise. China service, please. More...

St. Pierce's had a beautiful setting and amazing staff to help you with your visit. The food is pretty good -- although the Morgan was closed the entire week we were there. We would recommend the Miller's Arms as another place to get good food. The hotel is in a great location for those wishing to tour the treasures of Wales, including Tinturn Abbey, with good access to Bristol Airport and/or Cardiff. We had 2 rooms, upper and lower, in the lakeside village -- great parking just outside the rooms. The lower room had a small kitchen with a fridge and microwave. The stove worked, but the oven did not. We wish the upper room would have had a fridge as well. The rooms were pretty dated -- which kind of matches the atmosphere. If discolored grout, linoleum, creaky floors, and a few cobwebs creates a cozy atmosphere for you, this place is perfect. One night the water was turned off, and regulating the water temperature in the shower after it came back on was tricky for the rest of our stay. It really was like visiting an older relative. Other than those work arounds, the rooms were very roomy and the real beds very comfortable -- the sofa beds sag and should only be used by those with young backs. The pool area is nice and the pools have nice temperatures. But, the pools are not exclusive to hotel guests -- the pools belong to the country club and members use the facilities regularly. It was difficult to even get into the hot tub, because 7 or 8 older gentleman dominated the pool for hours. The hotel provides a fun walking loop that takes you across fields and over streams to an old church and some other historic sites-- a very fun adventure if you have time. Overall we enjoyed our stay. More...

I cannot praise the staff and service at this hotel enough and it is to my shame that it has taken me so long to write this review. The hotel is in a stunning location and there is a range of rooms but you will not find a bad one. Although Marriott owned, it does not have that corporate feel and certainly I have never received such good service in other Marriott hotels. We arrived at the hotel having travelled for 24 hours from Borneo. We arrived at 9:30 in the morning, check out time, the reception team were busy we were absolutely exhausted. We had already been told that there may not be a room available but we were desperate for some sleep before playing golf with friends in the afternoon. The team quickly found us a room, upgraded us and made sure we were not disturbed - how fantastic is that. Furthermore throughout our stay the team were attentive and fantastically efficient. Thank-you we had a great stay More...

Visited Marriott St Pierre for the afternoon and evening with my friend. Had a neck, shoulder and back massage from Terri - excellent massage and Terri was really lovely and welcoming too. The relaxation room was very nice with water and a range of hot drinks to help yourself to. More magazines would have been nice, just one for everyone and it was a wedding magazine. Robe and towel provided. The leisure club facilities were really nice, we were there late afternoon/ early evening on a Saturday and it was really quiet. It was lit up inside and dusky outside and very atmospheric. Nice big jacuzzi. Steam and sauna and the pool was a nice temperature. Ample changing facilities. Coins not needed for lockers, there’s keys.|Free parking at the hotel. Lovely hotel/ grounds and several bars etc on site. very nice grounds, main building is beautiful, and well maintained , very pretty little church in the grounds. we were upgraded to a lake side view, which i think would be one of the better rooms, NOT, dust on bedside tables, all along the window cill, had to ask for the room to be redone also the bathroom has definitely seen better day, and need a refurbishment . Unfortunately this does not give you a good feeling when you first check into a room. The room was the worst one we have ever stay in at a Marriott resort, and we have stayed in a lot, especially in the USA .The dinner and breakfast were very good, More...
