Spring Valley truly put the ‘care’ in care services for your loved ones. I had the pleasure of meeting Hellen in 2019 having placed an advert for a private companion for my mother-in-law. What prompted me to select Spring Valley from the responses received was that Hellen had clearly read the requirements properly, and already had the perfect companion/carer lined up. I warmed to Helen immediately - she used to work in a care home herself and completely understood why this was not an option we wanted for my mother-in-law. What do you love most about your job?
Being able to meet different people who are unique and not focusing on their illness or condition but on how I can make a difference in their lives. It can be as simple as supporting a person make a cup of tea independently or getting a person to start communicating again. seeing these changes in a person's condition and well-being makes me love my job as a registered manager and a care provider.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having working as a Tutor and Assessor, I observed a lot of poor care being provided to the most vulnerable people in the community and I wanted to make a difference by ensuring the carers are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to carry out their duties effectively.
