I've just finished the two day soft furnishings course and LOVED it. I can't believe how much we covered in just two days and I feel confident about making my own curtains.
..AFTER JUST TWO DAYS!!
Anne is a brilliant teacher-knowledgeable and patient. The small class sizes (maximum of 4) mean lots of 1:1. The yummy lunch was a bonus. I'll definitely be booking onto the dress making class in the future.
This is the second course I've attended in the Southside Sewing school and I can't recommend enough.

I paid for the introduction to sewing and had a great time! I was Anne's only student that day and she was an absolute gem. I had never touched a sewing machine in my life and she made me feel very much at ease. Nothing was a problem for her! Definitely a worthwhile course and I plan on doing more of the classes on offer! Had a lovely Friday spent learning to sew at the beginners sewing class. Anne was a great teacher and explained everything very well so everything was easy to understand - came away having made an apron, and feel ready to try and make some things on my own machine! Thank you!

Anne's classes are fantastic! A great teacher with infinite patience. Small class sizes with everyone working on the same project, a brilliant way to learn. Time well spent learning loads, meeting lovely people and actually leaving with a finished wearable/usable project .. and chit chatting about such diverse topics as the American election result and the merits of peeing in your wetsuit ..... I attended the introduction to sewing full day class today. It was amazing! I learned how to work a sewing machine and I even made an apron using a pattern!
Annie is a great teacher and the class is held in a very relaxed setting. There was opportunity to ask questions at any time and Annie is very good at explaining everything. She even helped me create a pattern for a costume piece.
I would recommend this class for sure!

I highly recommend Southside Sewing School to anyone from beginners to experienced levels. Anne is a superb tutor with easy to understand instructions, excellent guidance delivered in a professional and structured manner, but In a friendly easy going style. The learning environment is wonderfully comfortable with class sizes kept to a minimum so Anne is able to give plenty of time with each student. Unsurprisingly, with such great classes to chose from and an established reputation for quality, the classes become fully booked quickly so book early to avoid disappointment. Anne's classes are great fun and I learned so much because the atmosphere is so relaxed and supportive. Anne's wealth of knowledge as well as her depth of understanding of her subject enables her to share her enthusiasm while developing our own skill base.
Her courses are in depth and comprehensive, she has the patience of a saint which combine to give the inexperienced as well as those who have been sewing for years opportunities to develop their ability and confidence!
