At Southern Solar & Electric we are a team of engineers that got fed up with the way the solar industry is going. Long gone are the days of pressure selling. As we are a team of fully qualified engineers we offer the best possible advice we can give. Our clients choose to come direct to us so they get to skip the ‘sales stuff’ they get with other companies.

The main services we provide cannot be provided remotely, however, we have been able to provide advice for customers via online video calling platforms. This has removed an extra physical face to face interaction with our customers helping our customers to feel safer from Covid-19.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
With our business being such a customer faced business we have to protect all of our customers and staff members. We have taken precautions such as social distancing, face masks, hand sanitiser and requesting customers to try to keep windows open when we visit where possible as well as weekly testing.
Solar PV Installation
Full installation from panels through to all of the electrics and finally commissioning the system.
@Southern Solar and Electricals we provide the expertise and knowledge and then learn from our customers what it is exactly that they need. We then conduct property specific research and analysis to be able to show our customers what they can stand to gain from a Photovoltaic system. It is essential we give customers all the right tools and information for them to make a well informed decision.
Battery Storage Installation
The installation of battery storage systems to existing and new solar PV systems. We provide advice on what battery systems/sizes would suit the system that it is being added to. Depending on the type of battery storage the customer requests we often implore people to start on the conservative side in order to keep the cost down and see how the experience goes for them as to not spend out unnecessarily. Customers can really benefit from battery systems 365 days a year especially when they are on discounted overnight tariffs to top up the battery for those bleak winter days.
Remedial Work
Installation of new inverters, panels, optimisers and battery systems that may have gone faulty unless they can be repaired.
Optimisation
Retrofitting optimisation to a system can be of extreme benefit.
Optimisers are small boxes that clip on to the back of the panels. These are used when you have examples of shading or when some panels have degraded faster than others and a replacement cannot be found. This enables the system to work more efficiently and stops panels that are shaded/degraded from affecting all panels within that string.
