Supportive Music And Imagery (SMI)
SMI is a short-term therapy (6 sessions in total)
It works with one's positive inner resources rather than one's issues and problems.
By focusing and deepening the inner quality of these positive resources and positive imagery, it enhances one's ego.
It is highly structured and uses a single positive image and a single piece of pre-recorded music that is chosen by the client and the therapist together for the session.
The client is encouraged to explore and enjoy the positive experience using supportive music and imagery at home.
The sessions last 1hr and are spread weekly.
Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music (BMGIM)
BMGIM is a relaxation based therapy radically different from talking therapies. Here the music acts as a therapist that stimulates the client to form and explore imagery that arises from the inner self. Those images contain insights that lead to self-development, growth, problem-solving and integration of unresolved issues. With the encouragement of a trained guide, the client unveils both the issues and their solutions.
The sessions last 1hr30' and are spread quarterly or every 3 weeks or monthly.
Music Breathing (MB)
MB is a short-term therapy and is an adaptation of BMGIM developed for people with traumatic stress, where there is a dysregulation of the Autonomic Nervous System.
The client initially learns the skills of meditative Breathing and of Integrating Music Listening into a meditative state during the sessions.
Between the sessions, the client is encouraged to practise the method at home, and in the process learns to mobilize resources and manage trauma-related imagery on an everyday basis.
The session last 1hr and are spread weekly.
