About

Alone, terrified, hopeless, depressed, unmotivated, unlovable, sick with worry – HUMAN.

At some point, we will all feel this way. But we get stuck and fail to realise in the depths of despair that all we really need to do is to take one small step.

Therapist

Working with small steps counselling has been an excellent experience for me. Daniel has been knowledgeable, understanding, patient, and flexible from day one, giving me much needed direction but also allowing me to explore different avenues when needed. Can't recommend the service enough. More...

Therapist

Daniel has been extremely supportive and helpful since the beginning of my therapy journey. He has greatly helped me understand and combat my anxiety issues and, although we're still at the early stages, I can clearly see how his guidance is helping me in daily situations. Strongly recommended.

Q&As

For years I knew that I was someone who had to have career helping others. It is just my nature. I always had an interest in psychology and I was often the person others would turn to for support.

What I love most is that I am living my dream job! I get to help others but still make money doing what I love. I feel incredibly privileged to be part of a profession that helps to heal and empower the lives of others. Because persuing this job did that for me. It's my true purpose in life.

As I was training to become a therapist, I never really envisaged an NHS job or working for an organisation. I am a very self-reliant person and I loved the idea of managing myself and organising my day to day and the business side of things. Some people see that as a hassle but I see it as an exciting challenge. And I love it.

Simply because I want to help and I am passionate about the work I do. I understand that a paying client deserves the best from me and I am a self reflective practitioner who is always improving. I am client orientated and I truly want to see you reach your goals and your highest potential because I believe it's possible. I know that you're worthy of change even if you don't right now.

Yes, online and remote therapy is done through Zoom or over the phone.

All of my counselling work has moved online via Zoom. I also offer telephone therapy for the less technically inclined.

Services

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is an action-driven and research-based psychotherapy that equips you with the tools and techniques to challenge your negative patterns of thought and behaviour and overcome the personal obstacles in your life. These tools and techniques are taught and practised within and outwith sessions, allowing you to discover the triggers, unhelpful thoughts, feelings, behaviours and physical sensations that plague your daily life. You'll learn how the past has influenced your present and reach new depths of awareness that allow you to see your life more clearly. It is a positive and motivating therapy that helps you realise your personal goals and bring around positive change.
