Before starting lessons with Simon, I was trying to learn the guitar on my own; although being content with learning a few chords (for the songs I wanted to play), my level wasn’t really progressing. What do you love most about your job?
I get to spend all my time immersed in music, which has been my main passion since the age of 15. The fact that I get to share this with others is a privilege and doesn't really feel like work to me.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I'd always been teaching part-time as a side job for a bit of extra cash. When demand for my service increased, I bit the bullet and went full-time. I love it and haven't looked back since.
Why should our clients choose you?
I'm great with people. I get on really well with young children and adults alike. It's one thing to be knowledgeable and skillful in what you teach but that means nothing if you're not personable. I'm very friendly and easy going and make lessons fun while still getting the important work done.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I offer lessons online and in person. I'm happy to travel within a ten mile radius of Kettering to my student's homes if needed. Online, I usually teach via Zoom but I'm happy to use any platform that suits my student.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I became an online service as a result of covid-19 and that is of course the safest option that I can provide. I am however fully vaccinated and happy to teach in person. I'm perfectly comfortable with wearing a mask and sitting at a distance during the lesson and taking any other measures to insure that my students feel comfortable and safe.
Piano Lessons
I teach both contemporary and classical piano. I can help students work through their practical grades and theory knowledge or simply teach them how to play their favourite songs. I often teach from ABRSM and Rockschool grade books.
Guitar Lessons
I teach contemporary guitar, be it acoustic or electric. I can help students work through their practical grades and theory knowledge or simply teach them how to play their favourite songs. I often teach from Rockschool and ABRSM grade books.
Bass Guitar Lessons
I teach bass guitar. I can help students work through their practical grades and theory knowledge or simply teach them how to play their favourite songs. I often teach from the Rockschool grade book series.
Ukulele Lessons
I teach ukulele. I can help students work through their practical grades and theory knowledge or simply teach them how to play their favourite songs. I often teach from the Rockschool grade book series.
Music Theory Lessons
I teach music theory, be it contemporary or classical. I often teach from ABRSM and Rockschool grade books.
