Very professional and very caring was able to use previous experiences to guide us through the difficult times of caring for my uncle. I am comforted by the fact Elphas was there and really made my uncle comfortable and relaxed with his excellent end of life care he made sure he remained immaculately presented at all times which was how my uncle was best known. Thank you and I would not hesitate to recommend. More...

I cannot recommend Shumba 65 care more. I had a lot of difficulty finding the right care agencies for my Uncle. Elphas cared for my Uncle with complex mental and physical needs with humour, dignity and high level of medical attention and was very organised. He really understood him. The house was always clean with good food. The care he got really improved my Uncles physical mental health and took him on many outings and gave the best care in the last two years of his life. Dear Elphas,

I cannot thank you enough, personally, for all the care and kindness that you gave Dad in his final months. I could not have wished for more for him. I would go so far as to say that I think he was probably as happy as I had seen him for many years. You gave him the care and companionship that I think he was so desperate for for most of his life. A sad thought on the one hand but a very happy one on the other in as much as you were there for him in his most vulnerable hour.

You managed Dad so well with a deep understanding of his complex character. The added difficulties of dementia and stroke were taken in your stride. You were kind but firm, compassionate and practical. You fought his corner as if he were your own Dad. You could not have done more for him. You cut short your breaks away when you suspected that support carers weren’t following your instructions and put Dad’s care above your own interests. You managed 4 siblings who have very different relationships with each other and who had had challenging relationships with their father at various times in their lives. You navigated us all brilliantly.

I am so pleased that he was able to thank you personally for all you did for him. I think he probably knew his strength was leaving him as you said that he’d been saying ’Thank you’ in a whisper a number of times. He let us know with his grasped catch phrases that ‘all being equal….things weren’t that bad.’ He enjoyed the view into the garden from his chair, he obviously enjoyed your fabulous home cooking and I will never forget the ecstatic joy that the little Satsumas gave him. That was a wonderful discovery of yours. Who knew they could bering so much joy!

Again, many many thanks for the knowledge I had that Dad was being cared for so wonderfully well, for keeping me fully informed and for being there right to the very end. We were all blessed to have had your help when we all needed it most!

Sending much love,

Sarah Ahluwalia

Unlike hourly care or domiciliary care, live-in care is a full-time care solution which enables people to remain in their own home supported by a 24 hour carer.

1-2-1 live in care is provided by our full-time qualified and vetted care professional. So your family is assured that it’s for the whole day and not just an hourly visit.

The services we provide are also extensive, so you can still get the right level of service even if you are suffering from a progressive illness. You will get the help of our friendly and experienced carers to provide you with the best medical aid.

Live in dementia care services can help you with the support of a trained live in carer; dealing with dementia can be a challenging proposition.

Your Dementia care plan is tailored entirely around the needs of the individual. This ensures that you or your loved ones can continue to make your own lifestyle choices while remaining in the comfort of familiar surroundings.

Caring for someone with Dementia at home can be difficult for you and your family. That’s where we can help.

Our live-in elderly care service enables anyone with care needs to continue living in their house with an around-the-clock carer.

Whether you need some companionship or if you have some specific health issues that mean you require extra support, 24-hour care provides a realistic and affordable alternative to moving into a residential care home.

We can ensure that you get specialist care from highly qualified and experienced carers right across the UK.

The after-effects of a stroke can be more than just physical issues, and they can also be more long-term and life-changing. Strokes can occur to all people leading to a very sudden and devastating impact on all involved.
Strokes can have a detrimental effect on physical functions such as mobility, swallowing, continence and vision.

Other tasks like constant fatigue, concentration, memory loss, speech or even emotional effects such as depression, anxiety, personality changes, and difficulty communicating all take patience and continuous encouragement to reassure and rehabilitate the individual.

Live In Companion Care allows many older adults to live independent lives in their home, although their health may still be reasonably good, getting older is a part of life, and some tasks such as going shopping and cooking can become problematic or involved.

Some can feel isolated and lonely as they get older due to losing loved ones or family living some distance away, who are unable to provide as much support as they would like due to leading busy lives through no fault of their own.
Living Carers provides anything from company and friendship to assistance with personal care and household chores; a companion carer can make your life both more comfortable and more enjoyable. You’ll wonder how you ever did without them.

Call today and ensure that you get specialist care from highly qualified and experienced carers’ right across the UK.

When one partner in a couple needs more exceptional long-term care and assistance than the other can provide, perhaps due to the onset of a debilitating illness such as Dementia, deciding on the best way forward can be difficult. The possibility that they might be separated by entering a residential care home may also cause anxiety for both; live in care is the perfect solution if you feel that a residential care home isn’t what you want.

Whether just one or both partners that require 24 hours live in care assistance, we provide a practical and cost-effective alternative to a care home. Not only that, very few care homes have the availability of a double room to keep couples living together.

Live in care makes life more accessible, more secure and more enjoyable for couples, in which they can also provide invaluable companionship.
