Sean recently did some rectification works to some lighting and switches we had installed by another electrician which were incorrectly installed. Sean rectified the issue and now we have full use of our lights. He also installed outdoor security lights, switches and designer lighting. Sean came out to look at an intermittent RCD fault. He switched the trip switch back on when he arrived and then told me that because it was now back on he couldn’t diagnose the problem. Went away and charged me £60 for the privilege of his presence for 10 minutes. By contrast, another electrician has been out today and has spent two hours testing the circuit and diagnosing the fault (a fault on the ring main) and charged me £50. Glad that I didn’t also incur the added expense of calling out a specialist heating engineer as Sean suggested, since the heating is not the problem at all. Could not recommend. More...
