This company condemned our heating on the 2nd week into lockdown and to date, the 20th July have left us with no heating/hot water.

The company sent a heating engineer to the property as the heating was causing the electrics to trip around 4pm he condemned our heating and said that someone from the office would call us by 6pm, At this time, he told me it would be a straight boiler swap as the pipework was the correct sizes for a new boiler which turned out to be a big fat lie. 6pm come no telephone call, I called the office and was told it was now emergency service only and to call in morning, I called in the morning and told they would call me back. They didn't call me back, next day I called them again, they tell me the engineer hasn't sent them the information and they can no longer get in touch as they have furloughed him and they would call me back.

No one calls so I call the following day, again I am told they will call me back, 10 mins later I get a call from my Landlord Melville housing to advise they can't replace my heating into after the lockdown, great surly it won't last that long.

Melville in the meantime arrange for a Saltire surveyor to attend the property, he doesn't speak to us at all or give us any idea of what is going on (this is the 2nd time saltire have had to surveyed the property because they lost all the information on the first survey prior to the lock down.) Manners of the guy where pretty poor as he walks around our home smutting and making comments. Again, still no idea what is happening, so I contact our landlord again and this time he tells us what needs to be moved and what work needs to be done ok fair enough.

Now he tells us for the work to be carried out it will be over 2 days and we need to find somewhere else to stay! Ok we are in the middle of a lockdown where does he expect us to go or stay?

It’s now the 20th July and we have had enough of the poor service from Saltire and our landlord to be clear this isn't the only problem we have had they send letters on the Friday demanding access to service the heating on the following Monday – talk about plenty of notice to arrange time off work!

Overall if you are thinking about using saltire to help with your premises and do not want angry tenants taking legal action and making complaints or your own property, I would look elsewhere because it’s been hell for us.

I just wanted to send a quick email regarding my new central heating system which was installed by saltire on the 2/04/2019. The service from start to finish was carried out efficiently and professionally, first, a representative visited me several days before to tell me exactly what would happen and answered all my questions, he also noted my health problems and reassured me I would be given help. Everything went to plan the carpet fitters arrived on time and lifted my carpets, they were friendly and helpful, then the gas enginers and all the others needed to install my new system arrived exactly when the schedule said they would to install my heating system, the whole team worked very hard all day and kept me informed about each stage, this was very helpful i could make my tea before the electric went of for a short whileAfter the new system was installed the engineer went over all the controls with me then kindly set the times I wanted. and then something happened that is rarely seen with a lot of workmen today they cleaned up in every room. then arranged for the carpet fitters to come back.in.I had been apprehensive because of my ill health about getting this done but can honestly say there was minimal disruption and my home was quickly back to normal clean and tidy.Could you please thank everyone involved it is nice to see a company take such pride in its work.catherine Craig, More...

I have been a maintenance plan customer for just over a year, and cannot praise the service I have received highly enough. As well as the annual service, I have had to called engineers out on two occasions. Following the breakdown of my boiler, today a valve has been replaced by a very pleasant and efficient engineer, covered by my plan. Fantastic service and peace of mind for the future. I am a homeowner and have had cover with Saltire for nearly 2 years, I had a no heat and hot water today and they attended within 4 hours, The engineer that attended (sorry cant remember his name ) was fantastic, talked me through everything he was doing, I require a part which is very expensive but thanks to my Priority Service 2 cover I don't have to pay for this. God send.
