My name is Ryan from Basildon in Essex. I am a self employed office furniture fitter who has been in the trade for 4 years now. I work for Flexiform who are an office furniture installation company based in London. Recently I decided to join Bark as a side project for myself fitting furniture around my local area to utilize my skills for some extra money.

What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing projects from the very beginning to completion, for example when I am working in office spaces I love to see the progression from a clear untouched office to a fully operational floor with 100's of desks built by myself and my colleagues.
As for local work through this site, I love the fact that I can help people within my local community who need it. It saves time, money and also it gives me the platform to do my own thing as a personal project
What inspired you to start your own business?
It was a realisation moment for me when a member of my family had their whole house renovated and I assembled all the furniture in the house e.g Wardrobes, sofa, bed, chest of drawers, dining room table, chairs, door furniture, hinges. For years I have always been called to do this for friends/family as I do this for a living, so they would always ask me for help.
So I thought, alongside my current job fitting the office furniture, why don't I set something up for myself offering my skills/services for people in my local area.

Due to the nature of my work it is not possible to assemble things online or remotely. However if you would like advice on how to fit anything yourself or have any questions at all then please just give me a call, I am happy to help in any way that I can.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I am happy to wear a face covering and gloves if required.
