Counselling/ Therapy
Seeking support through counselling or therapy is a big first step to take and I can be there to help and support you with this.
I use a warm and empathic approach as an integrative therapist combining different elements of therapy to create a safe and confidential space from which you can explore any issue that may be concerning you.
I have a calming, therapeutic and safe garden cabin space especially designed for clients with wellbeing in mind, where I hold my in-person counselling sessions in.
Building on the foundation of this will help us to explore what you are seeking help with and to hopefully assist better understanding of the issue that you are bringing. I believe that you are the expert and have the answers and solutions to your issues
I am qualified counsellor with the CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (MBACP) and I have recently completed the CPCAB Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I am also currently studying part-time towards a Foundation Degree in Counselling as part of my ongoing professional development.
I have worked in the social care sector working with older people for 25 years. I have been a Registered Manager with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for 16 years.
As well as working with clients who have experienced depression, anxiety or abuse, I also have experience of working with individuals living with dementia and the impact this has on them as well as their partner and family. Issues of loss and bereavement are common and making the decision to move into a care home is a big one.
I also have experience of managing a team and the stresses that this can bring as well as other workplace issues when working with colleagues and clients.
I understand the issues and pressures of being in a managerial role generally and specifically when working as a manager in a care home
I offer a neutral safe space to be heard, listened to and understood in a non-judgmental way
