Q&As

Opportunity to facilitate constructive change in a way that is congruent with my personality, life experience and curiosity to explore human nature within chosen therapeutic approach.

With the extensive experience in NHS working in multidisciplinary clinical settings, rigorous training and continuous professional development, I found that running my own private practice offers me a balanced lifestyle. Within that context, private practice is the best platform for me to maintain high standard quality service to my clients. At this stage of my career, private clinical practice gives me an ideal opportunity to combine academic work with the richness of clinical experience. The way in which they inform each other opens up opportunities for constant learning from experience that good theraputic works demands.

The first point of contact for many clients these days is by means of the therapist’s own website or the website of their professional organisation.
When you stop by and browse through the space where a therapists ‘resides’ with her on-line presence the process is twofold: on one hand you are engaged with what you perceive. On the other hand - you project your own ideas into that space, making sense out of it. Your impressions, gut feeling, emotional and mental reactions enable you to intuit to a certain degree whether you want to initiate the first contact. There are two parallel streams in this process: conscious and unconscious. The unconscious process, to my mind, is the more important one in choosing your therapist. However, However, it is beyond your awareness. In other words, you may not know exactly why you have chosen to approach one particular therapist over another or why such factors as gender or therapeutic approach played any part in your decisions-making process.
Once you make an appointment it may be useful to discuss that process with your therapist and associate freely, as much as you can, on what came through your mind while you were interacting with their web space only and his or her physical presence.

Please have a look at my web site where you can get more information on the way I work, professional qualification and experience. If you feel that something you noticed there speaks to you, feel free to e- mail me and request an initial appointment.
During this preliminary meeting you will get a chance to talk about your issues of concern in confidential, non judgmental environment and get a feel - what it's like to engage with me. At the end of this session you and I will discuss what may be the best way forward for you.

I take the view that no psychotherapist of repute and good standing should every try to “sell herself”. A responsible psychotherapist cannot and should not promote her services by means of claims of their being better than the services of other psychotherapists. To do so would be contrary to the nature of her work and unnecessarily intrusive.
People are all different. Every person seeking psychotherapy needs a chance to find out what may be the most suitable modality or best matching therapeutic style for them. Attempts to influence them would defeat this purpose and rob them of the opportunity to take responsibility for their decisions and to learn from the experience at their own pace.
It would beat the purpose trying to influence them. That can only rob them of the opportunity to take responsibility for their decisions and learn from the experience at their own pace.
Talking therapy is not yet another commodity on the market. The commodification of human suffering only discourages people from seeking the help that they think may be the most adequate at any given moment.
The point is to break the vicious circle not to maintain or reinforce it. This can only be done in a proper therapeutic frame and with a professional ethical attitude.
A client cannot buy a desired change or relief from psychic pain. A therapist cannot provide a magic solution or give advice how to live life well for a fee. Psychotherapy is work that starts in therapeutic relationship. It may be the most intimate relationship you can have but it only works if it is conducted in a very formal setting within strictly defined boundaries.
In your first consultation, the role of the therapist is to offer you the space in which you can talk and explore your options to the best of your ability. By engaging with you and listening carefully, the therapist facilitates the process by which you can make an informed choice on how you want to proceed.
Please note that I can only accept appointments if requested in writing, whether through Bark.com messaging system or directly to me at info@rialdasebek.com.

I cannot accept appointments made on someone else’s behalf. If you think that your partner, parent, child, friend or a relative may benefit from psychotherapy the best you can do is to support them make their own enquiries.
Psychotherapy via SKYPE works well for a great number of clients and is accepted by professional bodies. Research shows that it may be even more suitable in today’s nomadic and/ or hectic lifestyles. People may find the right therapist for them but live too far away. The most precious currency in life is time. This is one of the reasons why, in contemporary world SKYPE
therapy is becoming more dominant medium for therapeutic work.
Having identified just a few of many advantages of SKYPE I wouldn’t recommend it for people who feel suicidal, or if you are younger then 16.

I strongly suggest that you approach licensed clinicians and check their status with recognised professional bodies. This is specially important for parents seeking help for their children.

The initial consultation is payable in advance and you will get an invoice in PDF file and confirmation of your appointment upon the receipt of the funds. Once you have placed your request, I endeavour to respond within 48 hours.
