The team at Revamp London were great guys to work with and managed to finish our project ahead of time. A highly recommended building company!

Q&As

Most garages are suitable for converting into an extra living space for your home without planning permission. However if the garage is not connected to your house then you may need to apply for change of use. Listed buildings usually require permission and some new builds may also have a clause that states the garage must remain for parking only. If this is the case you will need to apply for permission.

Each job is unique and as such the process from job to job will likely be slightly different but generally after reviewing the plans an initial site survey we would look at making preperations for the new external wall. Once this is all prepared the garage door would be removed and the wall built up to window height and then secured to stop any unwanted visitors. The window can now be ordered and made to measure and the new floor can be constructed. Before completing the final flooring, the electrics and plumbing woud be put into place then allowing the internal walls, ceiling and insulation to be completed as well as creating the new opening into the existing building if required. The next stage wil be the plastering and the second fix of electrics and plumbing. This will then lead onto any joinery works needed i.e. skirtings, doors, architraves, flooring, window boards etc. before decorating.
