We completed on our 3 month project mid December, creating an amazing new kitchen, living area and garden. We were recommended to Robbie by a friend after our original builder let us down two weeks before the build start date. Robbie and his team have been amazing and worked hard to get the build finished before Christmas. The whole process was well organised with great communication at all times. The team are a great bunch of guys, friendly and approachable always left the site tidy at the end of each day. Will definitely use them again in the future and recommend to everyone. I contacted Robbie on the off chance that he could squeeze my garage conversion in so we would be ready for Christmas. He came back with an immediate yes and 6 weeks later work was complete. The team that worked at my house were fabulous. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, expertise, ability to answer all questions, make changes last minute and still get the job done ahead of time. Everything was left clean and tidy at the end of each day. If you are looking for a trustworthy team I cannot recommend RB Builders enough - I can promise you won’t be disappointed. I didn’t know Robbie prior to asking him to quote for some internal alterations and a kitchen refit , I’d seen some local work he’d done and decided to ask him to quote for the work I wanted done. Not going to lie I was nervous on day one when he arrived with his team and started the job but I needn’t have been, he soon put my mind at ease. I was kept fully updated with what works were going to be done each day and with a clear payment plan the whole process worked well. Disruption was kept to a minimum and everything was left clean and tidy every day. Robbie managed the project from start to finish and when I asked for a couple of additional bits to be done it was never too much for Robbie to sort, even adding his own suggestions or little adjustments for me to consider. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Robbie and his team to anyone looking for a builder, a good honest and reliable company that quite clearly takes pride in every aspect of their work. We couldn’t be more happy with the end result of our extension! We felt at ease from the first interaction by phone, right through the process to the end result. Above and beyond what everyone wants from an extension, like high standards of work and good value for money, all the things we cared about seemed to just happen without us needing to ask… like the confidence that comes with doing staged payments, people arriving when they say they’re going to arrive, good advice, regular updates ahead of what’s to be done that week, and generally just nice people to have around. Originally we were all set to use another Builder who told us to do the foundations differently to how the Structural Engineers had advised, so we paid to have things drawn up the way he suggested. That Builder then told us he was putting our extension back by a year because he decided to take on a bigger project. We then found RB Builders. Robbie came round, quoted when said he’d quote and we decided to go with him. When it came to digging for the foundations, Building Control rejected how it was being done, saying we needed to do it another way – which turned out to be how the Structural Engineer advised. This set us back a few days, but Robbie and his team knew exactly what to do, helped me communicate what we needed from the Structural Engineer, and even spotted the Engineer’s mistakes in the Contractor’s Pack and advised on what needed to be changed, which was quickly accepted and corrected. The extension was still completed ahead of schedule. So we had the previous Builder giving us poor advice, a qualified Structural Engineer getting his numbers wrong, and Robbie spotting this, helping get it resolved, and most importantly, doing the work that was needed and securing approval from Building Control. The whole experience of working with RB Builders was in a completely different category to everything else we experienced. Some Builders we spoke to didn’t show up to quote, others came round, promised to quote but we never heard back, then of course there’s the experience we had with the Builder we were going to use who then dropped us for a bigger project.
