I don't normally post reviews however this one is a must. My car failed the Mot, the problem was the Steering wheel sensor. For 5 weeks I called around most new and second hand part garages in the North, to get second hand was impossible and to get the part new they were looking more than £1500, which is money I don't have. The problem was apparently this part couldn't be bought on it's own, I needed the whole compartment. I could buy this part on line however there was no guarantee. I then came across Railway auto spares, gave them a call and within 5 min staff advised me they have the part, in disbelieve i ask the lady can she hold it and drove 47 miles to their property. They took my car and fixed it there and then. I was charged a fraction of the price and staff made me feel very welcome while I waited. This company saved me huge detriment and I can't thank you all enough, one month later and my car has never worked better. I can't thank Railways Auto Spares enough!! The staff have shown outstanding professionalism and their customer service is second to none. I was introduced to Railway Autos after buying a car from a dealer, that within days had major engine faults. After weeks of attempting to get a refund from the dealer I was left with no choice but to replace the engine. In the interim my car had been at Railway Auto Spares and the staff had worked their magic to source a suitable engine in fantastic condition. BMW X3 - Tried several garages all of whom suggested a new turbo was needed, belching black smoke and running like a dog. I rang a turbo specialists who booked me in but suggested trying Railway Autos first for a further diagnostic check . On seeing David at Railway - within half an hour they had identified and fixed the problem, no turbo required. I found Railway provided good honest efficient and cost effective service. A brilliant end to a disaster engine problem. They say first impressions last - they certainly do... On searching numerous suppliers online & via telephone for a replacement engine for my BMW, not one came anywhere near to the professional service I encountered while dealing with Railway motors - right from the first phonecall to picking up my vehicle, their customer service exceeded all my expectations. They arranged for my car to be picked up (some 90 miles away) provided & fitted the replacement engine - a fantastic job! On collecting my car at Railway Motors we met with David and Samantha, whom we had previously talked to over the phone - it was an absolute pleasure dealing with these people. My car is running so smoothly it's like I've just driven it brand new out of a garage. It was an expense I could have gone without - but it was an absolute pleasure to pay for a first class service from start to finish! I cannot recommend this company high enough!!P.s. Really honest and know all about BMW's. Can take a while but that's because they're busy. My second visit to David and very impressed. On both occasions they have fixed the problems. First time required replacing a window motor, second brake pads. He could have changed a load of things to fix the brakes but opted for a try it and see how it goes approach.
