What I love most about my job is being able to make a real difference to peoples lives on a daily basis.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The main inspiration for starting my own business is my entrepreneurial spirit and to have the ability to build your own vision with the values and principles that are important to me.
Why should our clients choose you?
Radfield Home Care have been providing specialist care for older people for over 35 years and have an excellent reputation in the local communities, winning numerous awards for the care and support we provide to our client and their families.
We invest heavily in the training and development of our staff, reflected in our 'Caring for our Carers' pledge. We value our carers and pay them the 'Real Living Wage' and pay travel time between clients.
We are part of a larger, family run organization, founded by a qualified G.P, Dr Hannah McKechnie and have a continual focus on promoting positive ageing and wellbeing to help clients live their best lives.

The changes we have made are in line with government regulations.
Home Care
Radfield’s range of dedicated home care services is designed to give older people and their families the right choices and more possibilities while putting them in control of their care.
Personal Care.
We can assist with washing, dressing, having a shower or bath and getting in and out of bed. Our carers are all trained in moving and handling and can assist clients with reduced mobility in many ways and with all types of moving and handling equipment. Along with hygiene and mobility, we can also assist with monitoring blood sugars, catheter care, support stockings and many other aspects of personal care.
Domestic Assistance.
From cleaning and shopping to washing and paying bills, keeping on top of all the things that need doing on a regular basis can soon become a bit of a challenge when circumstances change. These jobs are not only important for maintaining a clean and healthy home environment, but they can also become a source of stress if they’re not carried out.
Companionship and outings.
Getting out and about can be great for physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
Respite care.
Rest is really important. To be strong for someone else, first, you need to be strong in yourself. We know that because we’re carers ourselves. We make sure our carers are well looked after and that’s why we are completely dedicated to providing respite care services that support other carers.
Live-in care.
We know there are many reasons why people might need live-in care to stay in their own home and these might change over time. Maybe there’s a family member who normally lives with the older person who can’t be around for a period of time. Maybe someone is back from hospital and needs an additional level of care for a while. Whatever the reason, Radfield offers people care in their own home 24 hours a day.
Medication assistance.
Our services for providing medication support have been developed by our management team, led by Radfield co-founder and GP Dr Hannah MacKechnie, and are designed to provide comprehensive support and complete peace of mind.
Our team works seamlessly with GPs and pharmacists to ensure the correct medication is provided in the first place and then our full medication service gives plenty of flexibility and choice.
Getting home from the hospital.
From organising transport and accompanying people, to managing more significant conditions and changes, we know how to give people the help they need when coming home from hospital.
