Q&As

Improving how people are feeling is very fulfilling and with massage therapies the results can be seen very quickly, particularly if someone comes in with a localized pain or discomfort. Sometimes it takes longer to start the healing process, as is usually the case with long term conditions. In this case it is rewarding to see a client relax and disconnect from their worries, and over several sessions there is the potential for more complex conditions to improve.
Furthermore offering massages gives me the opportunity to always meet new people and have interesting conversations, all of which are of course confidential.

I've been giving massages since I was a teenager and I always wanted to be in the line of work of helping people. After changing career a few times while managing my own IT business, I decided I had enough of working at a desk and I took the chance to do something I actually enjoy.

The best treatments that I offer are customized massages in which I implement techniques from all of the therapies I learned and I adapt them to whatever is best for you in the moment. While I am more than happy to give specific massages such as deep tissue or relaxation, I always recommend a massage that follows a natural flow dictated by how the area over which I am working reacts.

I only offer therapies that require you to be present. Some are very gentle such as craniosacral therapy and others are more vigorous such as deep tissue massage.

I either use disposable items or I wash everything according to government guidelines and I am happy to answer any questions you have regarding the implemented safety measures.

Services

This can either be a full body massage or we can focus on particular parts of the body. The massage is carried out directly on the skin using oil. For this massage you will be lying on the table in your underpants and covered with towels.

Depending on your needs, this type of massage can be combined with other massage techniques described below, such as deep tissue or myofascial release. For example, during a relaxation massage, deep tissue massage can be applied to an area of your back where you are experiencing frequent muscle pain.

Benefits: Reduces muscle tension, pain, inflammation, and the formation of adhesions; increases blood and lymph flow; reduces stress, depression and anxiety and stimulates the immune system; improves skin tone and elasticity.
This is a versatile massage with easily adjustable intensity making it suitable for any age and having few contraindications.

Just like Swedish massage, deep tissue massage can either be a full body massage or it can be focused on particular areas of the body. The massage is carried out directly on the skin using oil. For this massage you will be lying on the table in your underpants and covered with towels.
Deep tissue massage differs in intensity to relaxation massage and is carried out by applying pressure to certain areas in order to release tension and reduce pain and discomfort. Thus, some techniques may feel uncomfortable to some people.
Benefits:
Reduces muscle and joint pain and breaks up scar tissue;
improves flexibility;
reduces sensation of numbness or burning which can be felt in muscles and extremities.
This massage is recommended for athletes and individuals who perform repetitive work which causes stress on joints or muscles. It can be particularly useful for chronic pain relief.
This massage is not recommended as a standalone treatment for children, or for elderly or sensitive clients. Some of the milder techniques may however be used as part of a relaxation massage.

This is a superficial and gentle type of massage. The pressure applied is very light compared to other massages. For this massage you will be lying on the table in your underpants and covered with towels. This massage is carried out without oil.
The purpose of the massage is to re-establish the natural flow of lymph through the body. For this reason the massage is carried out in a particular order starting from the neck area and covering the whole body. For this massage to have an effect, lymph nodes must be massaged, including those in the groin area, which may cause this massage to feel more intimate.
Benefits:
Re-establishes the natural flow of blood and lymph throughout the body;
improves the immune system;
reduces fluid retention and swelling;
may help reduce hay fever and allergies.
This massage is recommended to anyone at least once a year. Children may not benefit as much from this massage given the decreased likelihood of poor circulation of lymph in their bodies.
This massage can be recommended before or after surgical procedures as it can boost the immune system. If you have such a procedure planned, you may want to discuss with your doctor whether you should have a manual lymphatic drainage before or after the procedure.
Manual lymphatic drainage is a standalone treatment which takes approximately 60 minutes.
Manual lymphatic drainage may be split into shorter daily sessions, particularly for elderly or weak clients. This will help the gradual restart of lymph flow thus avoiding the elimination of too many toxins at once. Fees can be adjusted accordingly.

This is a slow, relaxing treatment which stretches and helps remake the fascia connecting the muscles as well as linking all the internal structures of the body.
Similar to Swedish massage, myofascial release can either be a full body treatment or there can be a focus on particular areas of the body. The massage is carried out directly on the skin without using oil. For this massage you will be lying on the table in your underpants and covered with towels.
Benefits:
Particularly useful for muscle pain and relaxation;
helps restore joint flexibility and posture;
may help with sciatica, disc problems, neck pain, scoliosis, arthritis, carpel tunnel syndrome, sports injuries, fibromyalgia, jaw pain, frozen shoulder, etc.
Myofascial release can be carried out partially by focusing on certain areas such as the back or legs (40 or 60 minutes) or as a full body massage (80 minutes). This treatment is a good addition to Swedish massage.
Some movements may feel too deep for children, elderly or sensitive people; however, it is a generally well tolerated treatment when carried out gently.

This massage is carried out on the feet and lower legs up to and including the knees. You will be seated upright on the massage table. For this massage foot cream will be used.
Benefits:
Stimulates lymphatic drainage and boosts the immune system;
aids the removal of toxins and improves circulation in the feet and legs;
can reduce stiffness and improve flexibility;
reduces stress, mental fatigue and helps with insomnia.
This massage is suitable for anyone however some points on the feet may lead to over stimulation of certain organs. Therefore, the time for this massage is reduced for children, elderly and weak clients.
Standard treatment takes approximately 60 minutes (reduced time – 30 minutes).

This treatment is part of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is a means to bring the body back into balance.
The treatment is carried out through the clothes, without oil and can either be a full body treatment or there can be a focus on particular areas of the body. For this treatment you will be lying down on the massage table. It is preferable to wear loose, soft clothes.
Benefits:
Boosts vitality and balances energy;
improves blood circulation as well as stimulates lymph flow, improving the immune system;
relaxes muscles and improves chronic pains and joint stiffness;
restores general wellbeing and decreases stress.
This massage is well tolerated. It can be carried out partially by focusing on certain areas such as the back or legs (40 or 60 minutes) or as a full body massage (80 minutes). Techniques from this massage can be performed with oil as part of a Swedish or deep tissue massage.

This is a gentle complementary therapy which aims to release tensions stored in the tissues, improving general health and wellbeing.
Craniosacral therapy is carried out through the clothes, without oil, on the whole body, with an emphasis on the head and spine. You will be lying down on the massage table on your back. It is preferable to wear loose, soft clothes.
Benefits:
Improves the flow of fluids throughout the body (blood, lymph, cerebrospinal fluid);
releases tensions from cranial sutures and from joints, especially along the vertebral column;
restores balance to the body;
starts and promotes the self-healing process.
Being a gentle therapy involving a very light touch, it can be performed on almost everyone including children and the elderly. Ideally it is performed while the client is lying down. A pillow may be used and if lying down is not possible it may be carried out while seated.
Normally, a treatment takes approximately 60 minutes. However, treatments can be adjusted to be longer or shorter to suit your personal needs.
I am currently still a student in Craniosacral therapy. The qualification takes around 3 years to obtain (or 4 years during a pandemic). I am currently in my second year of study, with over 100 hour-long treatments completed. As I am still a student all craniosacral therapy treatments come with a 50% discount.
