One of best hotels stayed in. Beautiful setting. First class facilities. Couldnt fault rooms. Breakfasts to die for. Chloe our waitress brilliant but not only with our party but everyone in restaurant.

we really enjoyed our stay, the bar was large and the staff friendly. The spa facilities looked amazing, but we ran out of time to take advantage of them. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, very fresh and a chef on hand to provide what you fancied! We went away for the weekend for my friends birthday and decided to come here (never been to preston before). The hotel is really glamorous and rooms are a nice size with all the facilities that you need. Breakfast was lovely with lots of variety and catered to all dietary needs. Dinner in the hotel restaurant "iron grill" was okay, Our only issue is that the duck was dry and the nutella doughnuts didn't have any chocolate in them but had some weird rubbery jellified substance instead. What made our trip was the service we recieved from Chloe and Dan who arrange a card from the team and a bottle of prosecco to go with our afternoon tea the next day. We stayed for two nights in a twin double room. The hotel rooms are classy, clean and relaxing. Unfortunately, the noise disturbance marred our time here. On the first night there was a child running across the floor above us for 6 hours which went on till 3.30am in the morning. There were bottles rolling across the floor and excessive banging noises from adults. The following night there was long periods of noise again. There should be a option at the hotel to book twin rooms and then we would be away from the locality of the family rooms. More...

I was required to attend a conference in the area and decided to book in to the Marriott having stayed there some time ago. ||It is in an interesting location near the Motorway and one follows a somewhat circuitous route to get back to the M55 but there was no noise intrusion and access was pretty good.||It is a bit of a hybrid building - a mix of grand older building with modern extensions. I had booked in on-line and we were able to go to our room immediately. The room was generously proportioned and very clean. The air conditioning was slightly more difficult to use and a little noisy but did its job.||We had proximity keys which worked well. The rooms and decor are slightly tired but were acceptable. The bed was, as usual, comfortable and allowed a good night’s sleep. We were a bit of a walk from Reception but there were ramps and rails for those who have mobility issues.||We ate in the Cast Iron Grill and found the food quite good. It’s not quite AA Rosette standard but tasty and well cooked and presented. We enjoyed the Breakfast choices and there was an area for Bonvoy Members which was a nice touch.||Overall the Hotel rates an above average grading. What was particularly noteworthy was the helpfulness, kindness and efficiency of all the Team Members we met and interacted with. My wife has some mobility issues and I abandoned her for half a day to attend the Conference. The Staff looked after her brilliantly and went to great lengths to ensure she was getting anything she needed.||We would have no hesitation about staying again. The welcome and kindness make the Marriott a good place to stay. Once they get a makeover they will really merit high appraisals. We regularly stay at high end hotels and were really impressed. I’ve just returned from a nights stay at this hotel. I’ve got to be honest, I was really starting to get nervous about staying there due to the reviews from some on here ||Myself, my partner and two children ( 2 and 4) booked a room through Booking. com||£81 paid and then I read the reviews. ||We were staying here and using it as a base to visit Blackpool and the lights etc. |Arrived Saturday afternoon and given a deluxe family room ( room 155).||Beautiful building in well looked after gardens and lovely trees. Autumn made it all the nicer. |We were welcomed in at reception, given clear instructions on the location of our room along with breakfast times and facilities. |Room was clean, spacious and tidy. |Breakfast this morning was varied and fresh. Staff attentive and friendly. There was a wedding fair on today. Had a good chat with different people and looked around. |Asked for a late check out and given until 1pm. No questions asked. |All in all, and we are critical when required, this is a well run hotel in lovely grounds with good staff and a great location. Just returned from a two night stay at the Marriott. We stayed in a superior king room.||The entrance to the hotel is welcoming and the check in staff were professional and friendly. ||The room was spacious and it was also very clean. My initial reaction wasn't the most positive regarding the decor which is slighted dated (dark wood, traditional style, magnolia walls) however by the last night we both found the room very homely, comfortable, user friendly and functional the bed was really nice and we both slept brilliantly each night. ||We drank in the hotel bar on the first night which again although clean seemed to lack personality. They're was no music/entertainment and the lights were too bright. It felt almost like a waiting room/airport lounge. However the staff were lovely and very concientious. The food we ordered was also tasty and reasonably priced.||We ate breakfast on both days and really couldn't fault it. Great selection of continental, English, hot and cold food and overall a very satisfying experience. ||On the second night we walked a short 10 minute stroll to the Broughton Inn. Really nice pub with excellent food and a generally more rewarding atmosphere than the offering at the Marriott. Would definitely recommend,the food is great value and delicious + great drinks selection!!!||Overall, as a first time user of Marriott hotels I was maybe expecting a little more character and a wow factor to the accommodation. This isn't the most modern hotel and I was a little disappointed that the majority of rooms are located in purpose built extensions rather that the traditional country house. Clean room. Efficient heating. Lovely TV. Bathroom clean and fresh. At breakfast cups were dirty and many salt mills were empty. On Sat 2 Nov there were no eggs, sausages or bacon for a good 20 minutes. Chef clearly couldn’t cope. Bar meals just adequate and very over priced for what we got - tough pork and very salty gammon. Room was located next to a wedding hall and therefore, experience noise levels even though they have a noise policy. room would have been better suited to someone from the wedding party. It was a small room too considering it was fitted for disabled persons. Hotel was idea for access to M55 and for getting into Blackpool; but parking is tight.
