Having previously met Kevin whilst photographing at a family party, we enquired about his services for a corporate shoot to update our staff image library. We were impressed with his portfolio and knew he would be able to handle the challenge with ease. From initial briefing to the shoot day itself, Kevin was extremely professional and diligent, ensuring he knew exactly what we were after. We already had some previous images and were keen to be able to merge the old shots with new, which was no problem at all for him. We had a combination of individual, small team and larger warehouse team shots to create and Kevin was able to direct all of these with great ease and confidence. Even going up in the air on a forklift truck to get the perfect angle! He made everyone feel relaxed and more importantly, made it fun for those who were a little on the nervous side. The finished images were received within a week and we couldn’t be happier. The short version of this review is “Book Kevin Now!”This is the full version:Kevin has been absolutely fantastic from start to finish. From our first Skype conversation with him, we knew Kevin was the photographer for us. He took us through the whole Wedding Package and showed us examples of the album/s we could have, explaining how he would help us sort the photographs into an album that would tell the story of our day. (In contrast, other photographers we had spoken to had refused to show us their work, take any ‘traditional’ wedding photos that keep older family members happy, and admitted to still having couples sifting through hundreds of photographs 3 years later without any guidance despite having paid for an album!).We had a meeting with Kevin at our venue to work out shots for the day and this confirmed we had made the right choice. Kevin gets to know the couples he works with, offers lots of good advice and asks the right questions to understand what you want to capture.On the wedding day, (and for a long time afterwards), we had lots of compliments about Kevin: what a lovely guy, how well he fitted in, how professional he was, and that he never stopped! One guest was also a wedding photographer and even she was impressed. Kevin also has some useful breathing exercises for the nervous Bride or Groom, which came in handy, and he’s good with children, especially shy bridesmaids.Even after the Wedding, Kevin’s attention to detail and professionalism didn’t stop. We were really excited to see the preview photographs and delighted with how they turned out. We visited Kevin at his studio to view the whole collection over refreshments, and then worked through editing them into an album together. Even though the Wedding Day was gone, Kevin didn’t stop making sure everything was perfect for us.Working with Kevin has been a wonderful experience from start to finish, and we are so glad he was our Wedding Photographer. We cannot recommend Kevin enough.. From the beginning to end it was such a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Relaxed yet professional. There is so much time and thought that goes into everything Kev does from the preparation and planning, the big day and the finished album. We have got so many stunning photos from our wedding day it was difficult to narrow them down to choose the ones to make it into the album. A lot of the photos are very natural so it was lovely just enjoying the day and Kev was there to capture the moment.

We would like to pass on our thanks to Potter’s instinct (Kevin) who was our wedding photographer and what a superb job he did.
It all started with the reccy day when Kevin met up with us to get to know our wedding venues. He immediately put us at ease about the day with his humour and easy going nature. He came up with ideas about possible photos which was a great help and helped us try and organise the types of pictures we would want.
When it came to the day Kevin put everyone at ease, you would have thought he was one of the guests and not the photographer. He would speak to everyone, make jokes whilst sneakily getting those natural shots which then come alive again when you get to see your photo’s after the big day.
On the day itself Kevin and Laura always went out of their way to help when needed, a few examples of this are when Laura helped Nicola into her wedding dress, Kevin did Rob’s tie and they both helped the groom’s man with their button holes. The simplest of things became the most difficult when wanting to look your best. With their easy going nature we never felt rushed to get into position or strike a pose. They came up with different ideas in order to get some amazing pictures so you can look back at your wedding albums with fond memories.
After the wedding and when Kevin had got all the shots together you get to sit through them all and relive the day. The best thing for us was getting to see the beginning of each other’s day before we got to see each other at the altar. We feel that Kevin captures our story brilliantly which comes together in our wedding album.
In summary we would thoroughly recommend Kevin if you want a fun easy going photographer that is not pushy and listens to what you want, comes up with innovative ideas to try and make your day as special as it can be whilst capturing the special moments. More...

We’re so pleased we booked Kevin as our wedding photographer and couldn’t recommend him highly enough to others. The pictures he takes are amazing - he produced a memory stick of over 800 images for us and every one was a keeper! Whether you want formal shots, unobtrusive documentary-style shots, classic shots or something really funky and creative he’ll dive in with huge enthusiasm and do a great job. He’s a really lovely guy to work with who instantly puts everyone at their ease - from our first meeting over coffee and biscuits in his studio to discuss our ideas for what we wanted, through the day itself where he blended in so seamlessly among the guests that we hardly knew he was there working his magic, through to the follow up sessions in his studio (brioche and fruit this time, and more coffee) choosing images for a top quality printed album. From the moment we first met with him at his studio, Kevin became our friend. He was kind and professional whilst being very supportive and directive about the planning of the day. We both felt completely at ease and confident in his services. Already, I was excited about seeing our photos after spending months scrolling, mesmerised, though all his other photo albums on facebook!
Meeting up with Kevin for the "reccy" of our venue and surrounding area, a few weeks before the day, allowed myself and Kevin to share our own ideas for photos and he was kind enough to listen to and encourage my amateur photographer visions!

Kevin turned up promptly at 9am on the day of the wedding, was calming, inconspicuous and charming! He even helped my sister's boyfriend iron his shirt! I did not feel nervous when being photographed and Kev guided the posing with clear direction. For the rest of the day, Kev kept up his enthusiasm and professionalism whilst also getting to know our guests so that he could get snaps of all the key players! He stayed late into the evening- much later than I would have expected!
The Potter's Instinct Photography facebook page featured a small preview of the photos the very next day which were breathtaking and tear inducing.When we returned and went to view the photos at Kevin's studio, he made us feel comfortable and provided snacks for the slideshow! My husband and I were over the moon with our photographs. They are beautiful, unique and capture perfectly the fun and emotion of the day.
A couple of months later, we received our beautiful USB stick box and printed album. Kevin has an eye for detail and the presentation cases are more than worthy of the prescious memories they contain.
Since the day, we have had many of our guests comment on how amazing our 'friend' the photographer was. They were all surprised to learn that we had in fact hired Kevin and did not already know him.

From the moment we met Kevin we knew we were going to receive an excellent wedding photography service with top quality professionalism and products. What is more we also knew we were going to thoroughly enjoy the whole experience as Kevin is one of the nicest people you could hope to meet. Brilliantly calm, organised, trustworthy and capable Kevin also added to the fun.
Kevin was wonderful to have around as we all got ready, being both supportive and helpful without taking over the show like other photographers can do.
Kevin was involved throughout the day and late into the evening, enabling him to take both formal and informal pictures that really captured the moment. He put both the bridal party and guests at ease and many of our friends and family have commented on what great company he was as well as making them feel comfortable.
Following the wedding we have spent an extremely relaxed and unrushed morning viewing the absolutely gorgeous images that Kevin had taken and have since received the most beautiful album and presentation box for the memory stick; the beauty and quality of which reflect Kevin's attention to detail and high standards.

We found Kevin online whilst searching for photographars in the area, instantly I (the bride) fell in love with Kevin's style. I showed my now husband, however he wasn't convinced due to the fact that there are some more affordable photographers out there. I managed to convince my husband to having a chat with Kevin and we were not disappointed. Kevin insisted on a face to face meeting in his in home studio. From the minute you meet, you really do feel like you are talking to someone you have known for years. We instantly felt relaxed and it felt like we were completely on the same wave length from the get go. When we walked out of our first meeting my husband said "that is our photographer" and that was just the start of our unique and wonderful journey of documenting our wedding day. Our wedding was festival themed and the most important thing for us was that everybody felt relaxed and just enjoyed themselves, this was what was important to us, for Kevin to capture. We started the day early doors and myself (the bride) was a little unsure what it would be like having someone photographing me all day, something I had really never experienced at all. I should not have been worried as it really felt like I was welcoming a close friend to the wedding when Kevin arrived. We sat and chatted about anything and everything whilst getting ready and discussed some of the shots I would like during preparations for the day. Luckily my venue for hair and make-up was right next door to the wedding venue where my husband was getting ready, this allowed Kevin to flit between the bride and groom. During the day itself Kevin fitted in with all of our guest and still now when I talk to people they often comment on how our photographer was so chilled and just snapped away without you feeling like you had to be on form ready to be photographed. Kevin only left when we all felt we had captured the photos we wanted for the day, but this was no where near the end of the journey. A few weeks later we were invited back to Kevin's studio to view the photos and decide which ones we would like to have in our album. Kevin offered guidance on what photos we would want where in the album and how it would tell a story of the day, things we had not even thought about. There are a couple of options when picking your album and we would say 100% upgrade your album if you can, you really won't be sorry you did. The quality of everything Kevin does is amazing. Our only disappointment when we collected our album was that we were at the end of a journey, it almost made us wish we could have another wedding so that we could do it all over again! It was an absolute pleasure to meet Kevin yesterday on set of a Photo Shoot we were both invited to be a part of, for Tanya Westley Makeup Artist! Being "The Event Designer" within the team of suppliers. I worked very closely with Kevin at the end, bringing everything together. He was very patient and enthusiastic about my ideas and very talented at what he does. My daughter who is also a Makeup Artist and Keen Photographer, loved chatting with him about all things Photography and he was happy to give her some advise and even let her lose on his Camera! lol.. We are so happy with our beautiful wedding photos! Kev is such a creative and professional photographer and all his work is stunning, so we knew from the start that he was the photographer for us. Along with his talent and eye for detail he brings his warm personality and calm manner which is invaluable on your wedding day.

We found the whole process so enjoyable. Kev is really friendly and accommodating and he made sure he really understood what we wanted before the wedding. We had a consultation and also a visit to the venue to discuss the photos we wanted and to find the best locations for different shots.

On the day Kev was brilliant at putting us ease, making it fun and creating really natural and happy shots. We weren't keen on posing and Kev gave us lots of hints and encouragement to get beautiful shots that looked really natural. We never felt that we were being herded around or forced to do things we weren’t comfortable with which you sometimes see at weddings. He was just as warm and friendly with all the guests which brought the best out of everyone.

We were spoilt for choice from all the photos. Kev created a beautiful album for us from our favourite photos, that was really thoughtfully composed and laid out. We have had so many comments on how beautiful and unique the album is.

I cannot begin to express how delighted we were to find Potters Instinct Photography for our wedding on the 6th May at the Five Arrows Hotel in Waddesdon. I fell in love with Kevin's style from the photos on his website and felt we just had to meet. The wedding photos were really important to me, so I had to get it right! I am big on gut instinct and I knew straight away that Kevin had to photograph our big day.
He has been fantastic from initial conversations, via engagement photos through to the actual day! He put us at ease so quickly and I cannot wait to see the finished photos.

From the first moment my now husband asked me to be his wife I was already 100% certain i wanted Kevin as our photographer, we had been to two weddings previously where Kevin had been hired. One an evening do and the second my husband was an Usher for. We noticed straight away how professional Kevin was at both these weddings and the amazing pictures that he took.

We met Kevin in the November 2015 (a whole year and eight month prior to our wedding) and couldn't believe how welcoming Kevin was, he welcomed us into his beautiful home studio and made us feel so relaxed offering us drinks and some nibbles. A lovey touch. we kept in contact with Kevin in the lead up to our wedding either through email or phone calls, it really felt like you where talking to a friend.


Once the big day arrived Kevin arrived on time and started snapping away, he spent time getting to know my family who where with me in the morning and even got to know my makeup lady and hair dresser. Due to some timing issues I was running a bit late but Kevin made me feel so relaxed and explained to my husband to be that I was running a bit late but was still turning up. During our ceremony I didn't notice Kevin snapping away which meant the photos that he captured were so natural and genuine. During our group photos Kevin captured exactly what we wanted and was so patient with some of our family members. we have had some lovely feedback from family and friends saying how professional and a natural lovely person Kevin was, he even took time to have a chat with many of our guests. During our solo photos neither of myself or my husband felt uncomfortable posing in front of the camera and we were over the moon that not all of the photos where staged, we have so many lovely ones where we are just laughing away and did not even notice Kevin was taking photos. It was perfect. At the end of the evening Kevin stopped to have a chat with us both, checking that we have had a lovely day and once again passing on his congratulations.

When we went to view of photos we were welcomed once again with open arms (literally) at Kevin's home studio, we previewed the photos and I personally couldn't hold the tears back. Kevin had set our photos up with some audio and the music worked so well with our photos. We discussed our album options and walked out with the biggest smiles on our faces and the photos to match, excited to see the final product.

Kevin personally delivered our album and USB holder and we couldn't be happier with the final product, the colours matched our wedding scheme perfectly and each page tells a different part to our wedding. I cant wait for al our family and friends to see the final product and even our children in years to come.

We cant thank Kevin enough for everything from our first meeting to the final product. We would and will highly recommend Kevin to anyone who will be getting married in the future.

Kevin has become our 'in-house' photographer at YogaVenue, the Yoga studio I run and he is great! He has a unique way of capturing the energy and feel in the room and produces great photos. I found Kevin while excitedly scouring the internet for a photographer to hire for our wedding which was planned for around 18 months later in November 2017. As soon as I saw Kevin’s portfolio I instantly fell in love with his photography style and I wanted to book ASAP and reached out to him. Kevin is one of the most genuine people I have ever met and this was noticeable from his first communication with us. We were invited over to Kevin’s home studio, which is so luxurious and comfortable btw, to discuss ideas, logistics and cost. As soon as we left the studio I turned to my husband and we both said “YES!” and made the booking. Kevin was in touch with us the whole time, despite us booking around 18 months in advance! He made the planning so easy and was such a pleasure to work with. On the day Kevin was an absolute pleasure! He spent time getting to know everyone which definitely makes a difference. Kevin has such a calm way of working and despite it being the middle of November our guests didn’t mind being outside for the group photos as Kevin, and Mette our videographer, were so organised that it didn’t take long at all. The couple’s photo-shoot was so much fun and the photos were 100% worth freezing our butts off for! These two make a great team - super funny, and we honestly had such a great time. Kevin stayed until after the first dance, having arrived at 10am to capture the bridal preparations. He was super stealthy throughout the whole day and managed to eternalise some precious moments which would never have been seen otherwise. Something I must say is that Kevin did not feel like a photographer attending our wedding to provide a service, he felt like a friend who was a guest at our wedding who happened to be an amazing photographer. He is extremely professional and talented but also friendly and warm and someone who really will go that extra mile to get the perfect shot. After the wedding Kevin uploaded a few teaser images which were absolutely breath-taking and definitely got us so excited to see the rest. We went back into the studio to view the images and choose which ones we wanted in our album. We upgraded our album so we got to choose the colour of the album, the box it came in as well as the box for the USB stick and the hot stamping. These albums are extremely high quality and custom made to Kevin’s detailed specification along with the USB stick and its box. Yes, they are expensive but they are worth it - you will have your photos for life! We left the same day with our USB which had all of the images on and Kevin got started on a draft album layout for us to approve. This was so easy with the software Kevin uses and super quick too. Around 6 – 8 weeks later Kevin delivered our album as he was in the area and we were blown away with the quality of it. As you can probably tell, I would not hesitate for a single second to recommend Kevin / Potters Instinct Photography to anyone and everyone I know. More...

Where to start.....Kevin is absolutely incredible, we first met Kevin at a friends wedding where he was doing the photos (I was filming the wedding) he was so kind a helpful and clearly knew exactly what he was doing and where he needed to be we knew instantly we'd love someone like Kevin to do our own wedding! Being a photography enthusiast myself the photographer was a huge decision and being from Yorkshire it was an even bigger decision to choose someone from Oxford but we couldn't possibly have had anyone else. We contacted Kevin in the hope he would travel and he was thrilled to come visit Yorkshire and was helpful in answering our questions. Before the wedding we had frequent contact with Kevin and nothing was too much to ask.The day before the wedding Kevin arrived, staying at my parents, and came to visit the venue where Kevin's passion was evident he was so excited to photograph at the venue and had lots of ideas. On the day everything was so perfect and Kevin played a huge part in this, making sure we got all the photos we wanted and so many more. We've had so many comments from guests about how nice the photographer was and this was important to us, it was like having another friend at the wedding. My parents loved having Kevin stay with them and couldn't believe we'd found such a gem! The photos are incredible, such attention to detail and some amazing shots we didn't even realise we're taken. We couldn't be happier with them and have just ordered some large canvas prints. I've also had a lot of contact since the wedding with Kevin and he's been brilliant and giving advice. Kevin photographed our wedding last year and what an amazing job he did! My wife and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
There could only have ever been one person for this special job on our big day, as we are privileged to have Kevin as part of our family and now my brother in law.
You may now think that this makes the review biased, however I strongly believe that our wedding was Kevin’s most difficult and challenging he had experienced and maybe ever will.
Firstly, there was the added pressure of photographing his wife’s sister’s wedding plus the fact that he knew many of the guests, there was nowhere to hide on this one and knowing Kevin as we do, he would have wanted the pictures to be some of his best work.
Kevin being the professional he is, always insists on doing a ‘reccy’ of the location to bring his creative imagination to life and start the storyboard in his head. Unfortunately this was not possible, Kevin could only see the location on the internet. We were however at the venue the day before and Kevin disappeared for hours taking in the surroundings, snapping away with samples and testing lighting. I was hugely impressed with his meticulous attention to detail.
The next problem was dealing with my wife and I. We had so much to set up for the wedding the previous day that Kevin struggled to get the discussion time in with us, something he normally does with his clients a few weeks before. Kevin did prise us away but only for a short period, however he took this all in his stride and carried on planning the day in the absence of any real direction from us!
Then came the wedding day, Kevin was up at 5:30am to prepare. He was everywhere but all with the stealth of a ninja! Kevin was busy filling up memory card after memory card shooting the all-important aspects of the day. The sun was shining and the ceremony was all ready to go outside. Kevin was with the bride about to walk around the gardens to everyone sat waiting for the ceremony. THEN DISASTER More...

We sat and chatted about anything and everything whilst getting ready and discussed some of the shots I would like during preparations for the day. Luckily my venue for hair and make-up was right next door to the wedding venue where my husband was getting ready, this allowed Kevin to flit between the bride and groom. During the day itself Kevin fitted in with all of our guest and still now when I talk to people they often comment on how our photographer was so chilled and just snapped away without you feeling like you had to be on form ready to be photographed. We had a great time shooting with Kevin and really love our engagement portraits. He put us at ease right away and we genuinely had fun which definitely shows in the photos. We really appreciated the way Kevin was constantly on the lookout for a unique spot or detail to incorporate into the shots, from an ornate doorway to a tree in bloom to even a bus going by. We were further impressed with how quickly he was able to get us our photos after the shoot.
