Piers Sherwood Roberts

Piers Sherwood-Roberts is a 34 year old English composer. He was classically trained at Salisbury Cathedral becoming head chorister in his final year. From 1999-2001 he was part of the group ‘Boys Air Choir’ in that time touring Japan and recording two albums at Abbey Road studios. He is also proficient at the cello but found his way into writing and composing through his love of the piano. Earning a degree in songwriting (BIMM) he is currently working on the follow up to his debut 'Beginnings'.

"Teaching is all about the individual. I vary my methods to suit each pupil. Some work best visually while others prefer a more practical approach. I try and make learning as fun, interesting and diverse as possible whether preparing for exams, music scholarships or learning for fun.

Unfortunately there is no short cut to becoming a great pianist or musician. You have to build it slowly everyday, like going to the gym. It is a steady process but ultimately extremely rewarding."
