What makes a great website?
A clean, professional looking design that is easy to navigate and gives out a clear message to the user.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Do you have hosting and a domain name in place?
Do you have an idea of the look and feel of the site?
Do you have a logo?
Have you looked at your competitors sites and made a note of the good and bad points?
What is your budget?
What is the timescale?
Do you have images for the site or do you need to purchase some stock ones?
Do you have text content ready?
What contact details are you going to use?
Do you have social media links?
Describe your creative process.
I will have an initial discussion with the client, getting a feel for the kind of website or design they require. The process is very collaborative and questions and answers from this initial meeting (either on the phone, via email or in person) usually helps both sides with a cohesive direction for the project to take.
If it's a website project and once the hosting and domain is in place i will make a start on the site based on the ideas that came from that initial discussion.
The client will be kept informed of progress as the site starts to take shape and changes can be made along the way until the client is satisfies with the results.
The process does not end there however, as i am always on hand to develop, change, alter or move the project forward as time goes on if required.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
Just an initial idea of what the website is for, the target market and whether hosting and a domain name are in place. After that the process is a collaboration between myself and the client and hopefully will evolve naturally as we go along.
What do you love most about your job?
Creating something where there was nothing. Helping a clients vision take shape.
What inspired you to start your own business?
It was a natural progression from the clothing industry that i was in before and i have been interested in art and design from when i was old enough to hold a pencil. I started designing logos for people i knew in the clothing industry and then more and more people were interested in websites to i branched out from there.
Why should our clients choose you?
I believe clients should choose me if they want someone they can talk to in an open, friendly manner, without being subjected to marketing or technical speak. We all have our own skill sets and people come to me to design a website because they can't do it themselves or just don't have the time. I can't fix a car or build an extension and when i need someone to do those things for me i want them to talk to me in a way that i can understand and in a friendly manner and not make me feel stupid.
