It is impossible to fit Petra into just a few words! My lessons with Petra have been utterly brilliant. Petra is an exquisite pianist with an insight into every piece of music that will leave you refreshed and inspired. She is kind and patient also, and will help to nurture an holistic approach to piano playing which recognises the importance of physicality and breathing. Lessons are therefore uplifting and relaxing, and this is helped by lessons taking place in the most idyllic location of Ash Island on the River Thames. I have had lessons with Petra for over 7 years. Petra has trained me through graded exams, to complete a diploma and to perform a concerto. Whilst her approach is extremely professional, she never ceases to be friendly and accommodating. Her teaching has vastly improved my technique as a pianist as well as my general musicianship as she employs various methods in lessons including brief analysis of the music in order to enhance understanding. I have always felt encouraged and challenged thanks to Petra, but most importantly to me, I have also felt catered for as an individual student. She never fails to help me select repertoire that improves my playing which I also love learning. People often ask me if I am intimidated by the difficulty of the pieces I play, but Petra's teaching has always made me feel equipped and excited to learn - she has constantly given me the support and confidence to tackle any music. I am an adult student and have been having lessons with Petra for many years now. She is a wonderful teacher in all aspects. She is herself a very skilled piano and concert player as well as a great piano teacher with lots of experience. My piano playing and skills have really improved since I started learning with Petra. I started taking piano lessons from Ms Casen about 7 months ago. My teacher is excellent, helping me at the very beginning stages when I started leaning piano and further on. She is extremely patient, supportive and encourages me at each and every step of my learning curve. Although I thought , It would be difficult to learn piano at my age of 60 yrs, Ms Casen has really made is simple, easy and fun, to learn, read music and play piano.
