Home Help Services:
PBCare Carers helps by providing quality home help services that will enable service users to live independently in their own home. Support available ranges from one hour visits up to a maximum of 24 hours a day; this may include assistance with any of the following activities:
ü Making and changing bed linen
ü Answering the door
ü Overseeing home deliveries
ü Pet care
ü Supervising home maintenance Shopping
ü Laundry and ironing
ü Preparing meals
ü Cleaning the living environment
ü Using simple equipment
Companionship Services
PBCare companionship services acknowledges the unique interests and needs of older people and understand that they maybe times when they may start to feel isolated and lonely, which may lead to depression and / or distress. Our Companionship Service offers a regular variety of engaging and person cantered support that include:
ü Continuing contact with family and friends
ü Reading, riting letters and organizing mail
ü Stimulating mental awareness
ü Arranging appointments
ü Health promotion e.g. assisting in planning for a healthy balanced diet
ü Providing escorts to health-related appointments i.e. walks to the park, trips to the theatre, flower show etc.
ü Remembering past work life with focus on subjects of interest related to events that happened in their life
ü Proactively engaging in helping service users manage their medication by reminding/prompting them to take them
Respite Care Service
Our respite care provides short term breaks to main carers working with family members or friends. There are many respite care options and strategies that you may not be aware of. We acknowledge that looking for support and maintaining one’s own health is key to managing an individual’s years. With respite care main carers become less exhausted, isolated, or overwhelmed. Finding the right balance between care giving responsibilities and other commitments requires persistence, patience, and preparation and we are here to help with that. There is an increasing number of families in the UK who now care for their elderly loved ones for many reasons including cultural ones and this experience, without an alternative, maybe stressful. PBCare can assist the family carer with service cover from a couple of hours to 24 hours support. It is hoped that this support will cover two or more of the following activities.
ü Preparing meals
ü Prompting/reminding of clients to take medication.
ü Light house keeping
ü Local transportation
ü Convalescence & respite care
ü Assistance with personal hygiene e.g., bathing & dressing
ü Shopping escorts and support
ü Provision of specialist care for people with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
PBCare care have specialist training to support people with Dementia or Alzheimer’s disease through the challenges these illnesses bring.
